@The Story We Write

Hey Everyone! ) I’m Anna and welcome to my channel. Here, I post some useful information for English learners. I’m from Ukraine and I’ve worked on my English and accent, for the most part, on my own, but you can find out and trace my story by watching my videos. I’ve been studying American pronunciation for a long time, and I still do, and I guess I always will – because it’s not math. Learning a language, it’s a lifetime journey. I know exactly what it takes to become fluent and acquire an accent in a non-English speaking country, and I’ve never even been to one. And I’m sharing this information here – on my channel.

  1. I only get the first one reading the subtitles but without explanation. I get the 2nd and 3rd watching it a second time. So, I get it but I still have a lot to learn

  2. I didn't get it the Jokes but when you were speaking, explaining. I got it what the memes were wanting say! You're good!

  3. the last joke I can able to understand it but other two jokes I can't able to understand but I try to learn new complicated words and start make conversation thank you for you're advise keep up a good work mam

  4. Hanna, understanding a joke is much more than just being fluent in the lingo. I lived 20 years in Australia. When I've got there I thought I was good in English. It couldn't be farther from truth. I am a mining engineer and went to Woz for a PhD scholarship offered by the University of Queensland. When I went to the mine sites and had a "safety meeting" in the morning with 15 to 20 guys with a very strong ocher accent. Sometimes I couldn't understand but a few disconnected words‼️ After some some time I discovered that it would take me about 3 days to start understanding that lovely accent at the different mine sites! Then, in 2009 I went to New Orleans for a mining conference in the US with 2 more aussie colleagues. To my surprise, the room-keepers at the hotel we were staying could not understand my friends and I had to "translate" them to the "locals". Besides all these complicated lingo idiosyncrasies there is a lot of fun in the broad English accents around the world and there are people that laugh 3 times when listening to a joke: once when they are told, then when listening to the explanation and finally, when they understand 😆🤗. Have a good one, mate👍🏼

  5. Apologies in advance those were the flattest jimmy kimmel jokes I have ever heard, but down under have their flavor

  6. Anna, you are so amazing and stunning, by the way! Thank you so much for helping me to improve my poor english. Kisses from Brazil.

  7. I understood that one about cat's meds but even though I did so, I think I'm currently really far away from a C1 English level :D!

  8. What is that God's sake? there is no video here, there is 5 minute long sponsorship advertisement and 4 minute long content!!??
