  1. Yeah that's standard practice but in that same sentence you should talk the people most lawyers get 40 to 50% of the settlement

  2. Yeah, I need $600,000 for medical bills past and future and living supplement. I get awarded $600,000. The lawyers take $200,000 leaving me with less than I need.

  3. That's not unique to your practice! There are 2 types of representation. The one with a retainer or a contingency. Contingency only gets paid if you succeed in a verdict or settlement. Going to trial allows you to take a larger portion of the verdict. Contingency fees are usually 40% of the settlement and that is on top of all of the charges placed against the client's portion. They are usually nickled and dimed out of more of their 60%. Don't act like you are some righteous attorney representing the down trodden.

  4. Did you hear that Washington Supreme Court filed a couple of Supreme Court orders approving alternative pathways to lawyers licensure. Basically allowing you to practice law without the bar.. I’m really confused and wondering if this is for people that wanted to defend themselves or a person who wants to act as a lawyer without the bar exam!

  5. The trouble is if you win and get a settlement you end up with more than the client. Just a con !
