The National Department of Water and Sanitation has opened 36 criminal cases against 26 municipalities for sewage spills that contravene environmental and water legislation. Last month the Govan Mbeki local muncipality was slapped with a R200 million fine for pumping raw sewage into rivers.,

  1. After nearly 30 years , now the Dept act….more cases….possibly more fines for councils…and the public must also pay for that…and then who gets the money? National Govt!?
