Charlie Adelson was convicted for plotting the murder of his former brother-in-law and FSU law professor Dan Markel. Adelson hired three people to kill Markel — Markel was gunned down outside his Tallahassee home in 2014. At the time of his murder, Markel was in a brutal divorce and custody battle with Adelson’s sister, Wendi Adelson. Days after his conviction, Adelson’s mother — Donna Adelson — was arrested for the same charges Charlie has just been found guilty of. Charlie will be sentenced Tuesday and is expected to spend the rest of his life in prison.

As i have always said,
When a spouse is murdered and the other is suspected, the children should go to the victim's family unless there's something wrong with them.
I pray for the Markles. I feel sad for the dad of the Adelson's but less so seeing as he knew as well… maybe not all of it, but he was willing to stand by his wife and son. Charlie's kids and wife lost someone too. I hope Donna is the second to be brought to justice and Wendi follows and The Markles get custody
Wendi, Wendi, Wendi … was it really worth all of this pain and suffering? Your mother and brother behind bars? Why couldn’t you co parents like millions and millions of divorced parents? Such a senseless crime.
This judge is an exceptional example of professionalism and justice.

My heart goes to Mr. Markel, what a wonderful son he had and is still very proud of. I hope they get custody of their grandchildren 🙏🏼 because they deserve to leave in a home filled with peace and love.

the family should’ve been in the courtroom… I understand they’re in Canada but I would’ve found a way to see that murderer face to face
Mr. Markel’s impact statement was incredible. I’ve never heard the Markel’s say any remarks about the Adelson family that would negatively affect the grandchildren. They’ve always put the grandchildren first.
Justice was served.
Isn't it odd Wendi would keep the kids away from their grandparents if she had no clue her brother hired hitmen to kill their son? That's a big red flag for me. On top of the rest of her lies. Charlie and Donna are exactly where they deserve to be. Nobody put them there but themselves. Wendi should be right beside them. I hope now that her boys are old enough they google this to find out the truth and never speak to the Adelsons ever again.
