Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I’ve loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on YouTube, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I’ve evolved into doing other things on YouTube. For years now I’ve wanted to create a music channel on YouTube, and recently just figured “why not?”, so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.

If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.

This is a reaction video used to educate and give my feedback on the song and artists.

  1. Great Song from a Great Song
    Warren Zevon
    Criminally Underrated
Lucky enough to have seen Warren In Concert in 82/83

  2. I saw Warren in a small club Saratoga NY in 92…great show…I have always thought he was a genius..with all the rock tops working with him…Jackson Brown/Ronstadt etc. RIP Warren

  3. "Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner". "Mr. Bad Example" "Mutineer" & before his death from cancer in 2003, he was able to record a final album, with some music friends, his epitaph "Keep Me in Your Heart"

  4. Shawn, if you like this one, you absolutely have to hit "Detox Mansion." It is a straight-up banger, Warren at his rockin', sarcastic best, singing about his time at a celebrity rehab facility.

  5. Detox Mansion, …should be next on your Zevon journey,!
From a guy , that has taken leaves with Liza..😂

  6. Warren Zevon is one of those few whose mold is broken. He is a legend in his own league. His lyrics were humorous maybe macabre at times. He and Jackson Browne were friends and Jackson mentored Warren with his song writing back in their very early days.

  7. Eastern Light , by Mad River … im probably the only one that will recommend it , but you wont regret it if you give it a listen .. i promise you , its a gem … might even become one of your favorites like it is mine

  8. I love your interesting choices of music. Keeps me coming back. Thought I was a rare person who heard Excitable Boy or Keep Me in Your Heart, the very last song he recorded right before he died.

  9. Warren marched to his own drummer. Much like zappa, but imho, Warren's tunes are much more listenable.

  10. I always heard the "narrator" of this song as being a young and irresponsible fellow with a rich dad. Putting it in current terms of reference, picture the young Matt Gaetz before he got to Congress. 😇

  11. I was on a week-long drunken bender after the death of a military brother who was killed in the DMZ in Korea in 1976 while cutting down a tree. Yes, I said a tree. I had a note sent to my
barracks saying send Lawyers, Guns, and Money or come down to Itaewon in Seoul to stop me from trying to drink that tragedy off my mind. My eyes still well up when I hear this song.

  12. Underrated is a word that is thrown out too much these days, but Zevon is definitely underrated. Other great songs include Desperados Under The Eaves, Exitable Boy, Splendid Isolation, Carmelita, Poor Poor Pitiful Me, Searching For A Heart, Roland The Headless Thomson Gunner, Run Straight Down, The French Inhaler, Reconsider Me, Mr Bad Exemple, Gorrila You're A Desperado, Genius and of course My Sh*t's F*cked Up (a funny song about terminal cancer).

  13. My favorite WZ lyric, "If California falls into the ocean, as the mystics and statitics say it will, I predict this hotel will be standing until I pay my bill".

  14. Still my favorite artist of all time. Carmelita, Desparadoes Under the Eaves, Mr. Bad Example, and so many more. The Envoy is timeless and could be written about the middle east today. I hope you do a lot more of Warren's music. He deseerves a lot more attention.

  15. One of my favorite Zevon tunes. My favirite, which was beautufully covered by Linda Ronstadt, is "Carmelita."

  16. I think you are right, the character here is an "operative", maybe with the government, maybe not, maybe he doesn't know. "Dad get me out of this." One of the greatest lines ever. A very talented multi-faceted songwriter. And very eccentric

  17. The defecation has impacted the rotary oscillator. "Excitable Boy" the title track of this album is also worthy of a listen. Warren Zevon, a true troubadour extraordinaire. RIP Warren.

  18. Except the relatively few in the know, Warren was one of the more under appreciated artists in rock history. Warren was a very wild guy, with a father who purportedly had underworld ties who became divorced while Warren was still young. He often helped Warren in various ways when he was in trouble on more than one occasion, which Warren came to rely on. This song was largely a humorous take on that situation, with Warren inventing ludicrous escapades for which he might have requested that “Dad get me out of this”. Zevon’s ability to write humorously, as in this song, Werewolves of London, My Shit’s Fucked Up, Excitable Boy, I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead, etc., as well as beautiful songs of love, longing and pathos, as in Keep Me in Your Heart, Vera Cruz and Tule’s Blues sets him apart from many of his contemporary artists. Dylan mentioned him as one of his favorite songwriters, which in itself says a lot.

  19. Warren Zevon has a whole bunch of similar songs, with funny, cynical lyrics, and a great backup band. Try Werewolves of London, Excitable Boy, Poor Poor Pitiful Me (covered amazingly by Linda Ronstadt) and lots of others. He died of cancer and he did more reflective songs when he knew he was dying.

  20. Thanks for turning me on to this song, Shawn. The only song I really know by him is "Werewolves Of London." Aaaawwwwuuuuuh!

  21. All of the fun and great songs you play Shawn is the reason why I don’t want to go to any other reaction channel, and I don’t get tired of saying YOU ROCK and thank you.

  22. A couple other great Warren Zevon songs: Excitable Boy, Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner.

  23. Great Zevon tune. I know Shawn you've done 2 BTO reactions? How about "Blue Collar" ? Fantastic tune from the Canadian group..🎤🎶🇨🇦
