In 2019, Hannah Payne witnessed a hit-and-run accident. She called 911 to report the crash — but instead of following instructions from dispatchers — she allegedly followed one of the drivers involved in the crash, Kenneth Herring, and demanded he return to the scene. Payne then allegedly fatally shot the man as he sat in the driver’s seat of his car. The 25-year-old is charged with malice murder, two counts of felony murder, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, and three counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

  1. I don't have a License to Carry my gun, but I decided to apply for it. Don't they go over the "do's & don'ts" of what youre allowed??

  2. He is trying to disqualify every testimony that doesn't fit his account of events in a ways that's belittling, and that's unprofessional.

  3. She wasn't listening. Everybody else's testimony changed but Hannah according to him. He was trying to make her testimony fit the scene.
If he's not a public defender, mo one will ever hire him after seeing this, but guess he had to come up with testi lies because he really did not have anything to work with.
Didn't the video show her lie the gun down on the ground after she shot him?

  4. Her lawyer is a joke!@ Exactly what rock eas he under when Hannah was speaking calmly, and when the 911 operator told her to pursue.Yep, he said at the beginning he was going to tell the jury a little story aka lie.
Did anyone see him tell Hannah to record his story?

  5. Crying when you’re excuses and claims of reasons are rendered faulty while stone faced as witnesses confidently state facts against your testimony is theatrical ✌🏽

  6. I liked how the defendant prominently displaying a cross pendant on the outside of her sweater as if to say she is a person of God. Also has there ever been a time where polling the jurors revealed a discrepancy? The victim probably had a diabetic attack, and he did stay at the accident scene for 20 minutes before leaving, probably to get medical attention. She deserves the book thrown at her.

  7. If my defense lawyer came in ready to defend me in those fuzzy pink socks & grey tap shoe's, I'd fired him on the spot.😮 🥴

  8. Actually if Herring hadn’t run a red light, hit a truck, and then tried to flee the scene of his crime…. He would still be here.

  9. His empty closing argument file he forgot at the office showed up after he started his closing off of his scribbler.

  10. Her lawyer looks like one of the dudes on the Sopranos. I am dozing off already in his closing as I just found out we are only on his day 2 recap

  11. I disagree that it had nothing to do with her. It did because she witnessed this guy commit a crime in running a red light and hitting the truck. He then fled the scene before anyone could drug test him. Why doesn’t a citizen have the right to stop someone fleeing the scene of a crime they know the person is guilty of?

  12. What the f does it matter if he had diabetes or didn’t have diabetes defense attorney, he got shot by her, she killed him, she murdered him, she goes to prison, end of story.

  13. I think a proper sentence would be 1. Life in prison 2. No parole 3. No A/V implements 4. Isolation.

  14. How dare the defendant's mother weep. It's pretty low to want your kid, or relative, go Scot-free after the committing murder.

  15. What ever the reason for her so called injuries, she never should have been at the mans car in the first place. She was an unrighteous vigilante, period

  16. The closing arguments by the State was absolutely 💯. She told a story and explained each charge and how they applied to the event. I’ve had to watch it several times. It was the best closing argument I’ve ever seen.

  17. I’m happy she is being held accountable for the awful, senseless decisions she made. May Mr. Herring rest in peace. I’m saddened how this defendant treated him in his last seconds on this earth, he must’ve been so confused and afraid.

  18. There was soo much evidence that painted her as a murder more than it being painted as self defense. She was cooked from the beginning. She buried herself by taking it to trial. I had a feeling she was going to go down for murder.💯🤦🏿‍♂️😭

  19. Her defense lawyer was absolutely horrible! He catered to her delusion that she did nothing wrong. He was ill prepared as well. I wonder what he thought going into trial. If he really thought he had a chance at winning this case.

  20. State is saying she had no right to detain the driver… but she did have the right under Citizens Arrest laws, I thought. Because she had witnessed him commit a crime, and was seeking to prevent him getting away. I do think she only needed to get the tag number though and then leave. But if he was under influence then he would have got away with it, by having time to sober up before they tracked him down thru the tag number. I think this would all be seen differently if he had killed the truck driver when he ran the red light?

  21. Someone that knows the decedents family please make sure they sue her car insurance company because they are truly owed compensation for his death…plus she was found guilty so it an open and shut case…if they have not already sued her car insurance companies for compensation

  22. I dont like the state lawyer… she is very conceited and wears her hair like she’s trying to be some sort of queen…ick!!

  23. The whole trial was a bunch of circumstantial "evidence", unreliable witnesses, BIASED judge and a very disrespectful prosecutor. It was disgusting. There's not even proof that she shot the gun, they ignored all the mitigating factors. Also, the 911 tape was edited. This deserves a mistrial.

  24. Perhaps she could of claimed an insanity plea…cause she must of been out of her mind to think that she could get away with what she did!!!

  25. I don't know the case well, but wasn't she perusing a hit and run criminal? I'm sure I read somewhere that a man in a car ran a stop light and wrecked with another vehicle, before trying to escape in the crashed vehicle?

  26. My thoughts and 🙏🏽 prayers go out to the family!🩶
    RIP 🪦 Kenneth Herring!
