Umar Zameer expressed relief on Sunday after a jury found him not guilty in the death of a Toronto police officer, who died after being fatally run over by Zameer in an underground parking lot on July 2, 2021. “I see today that Canada didn’t let injustice happen, so I thank Canada,” Zameer said.

  1. I am a black mother and my daughter and grandson are white. If I, as the driver, had been rushed by police with them in the vehicle, who knows how I may have reacted to protect my family.

  2. He should sue Toronto police and the lying officers it was clearly a mess from, police end, most people would have responded exact same way especially with 2 yr old and pregnant wife in car too.

  3. The Toronto Police, I’m sure would have made SOME attempt to identify themselves in the executions of their duty on that fateful, tragic day!

    I have trouble believing otherwise

One of Toronto’s Finest was killed that day! And the officer who was killed, to my knowledge of following this case, had an impeccable service record.

The defence did not prove that the accused or his family were in any immediate and physical danger. And merely being frightened is not enough to justify striking and killing another human being with a motorized vehicle, let alone a Toronto Police Officer!

The Crown really should appeal this acquittal! It could have been erroneously made based on certain mistakes the trial judge may or may not have made.
And this is not the United States, Canada does not have “double jeopardy” statutes.

Also … people of MINORITIES I find, and this has happened to me personally. Are in the habit these days of WEAPONIZING their obvious skin colour and physical differences in order to curry favour and gain advantage, whatever they may be, in Western Christian countries such as Canada and the United States!

I am stating the truth here. And there are NUMEROUS videos on social media to back my statement up.

It also does not help when “bleeding heart” people, who mostly lean toward the liberal Left on the political spectrum, aid and abet this kind of destructive and evil behaviour.

  4. I believe he was inocent from the get go, he and family were out on canada day and the cops were plain closed, my friends son was chased by under cover not knowing it was cops, i clearly see the panic that would have been he was trying to get away with his family and was protecting them, bad accident unfortunate but i never had any dought he was innocent RIPto the officer who lost his life, but this was so unfortunate…😢

  5. What were the police up to in the parking lot? Not understanding their role here and not explained.
