Trump is banking EVERYTHING on winning in November after which he will pardon himself, consolidate power and never leave. His deliberately antagonistic and defiant approach to being held accountable in court and everywhere else has the completely desirable co-effect of utterly delegitimizing, undermining and making a mockery of our justice and political systems, so that his supporters will be 100% on board when he fully dismantles both of those later. 38. Commentators : don't get it clearly and it is a little disappointing to not see the proper examination of this behavior because it prevents counter measures being taken. . He has to defy the judgements and create narratives that boost his political base . This allows him to cry I am being vilified and targeted in the media posts. If he assumes any guilt or compliance he will lose any chance of that base getting him into presidency. Obtaining presidency is his only get out of jail card and you better believe he has people creating strategies for that to happen in any way or shape possible. I would imagine he is taking the same measures to obtain nomination. Yes some indictments are state driven but watch what he would do and how much pressure he would apply by indicting any individual from those cases on some "trumped up charges ". Delay , defy , defend , distort , that's what is happening. The strategies are numerous without any moral code aligned with them. The laws must be actioned no matter who the person or situation and the lack of application is giving him copious amounts of room to navigate through this.
