  1. Devin, I love the channel and I also use GroundNews every day, but please, the phrase "an objective way to read the news" is an absolutely unobtainable goal. As a skilled lawyer I'm sure you or your team can fram it differently.

    All the best

  2. Maybe presidents should be discouraged from pursuing criminal action. Maybe that "chilling effect" is a feature, not a bug.

  3. American presidents already have enough power and immunity, especially internationally, as well as domestically, they don’t need more,

  4. Brit in the UK is the immunity for senators and congressmen similar to what we have here that an MP can not be sued for liable for something they say on the floor of the house?

  5. Lol, so Biden should wait until last day of his office to order assassination of the Trump, and he will be fully legally protected since no impeachment process can be done after his term and it will not be possible to impeach and convict him in one day?? What a troll.
Edit: also, if it happens that Trump will not be punished and he would end up as next president, I would bet, that he would do ANYTHING he wants to do, no matter if legal or not. If he thought it would be best, he would try to order assassinations, assuming he believed that they will be carried out, I doubt that military would agree.

  6. I love the FBI note because I raised an eyebrow and instantly thought of cointelpro right before hand. When it comes to political opponents or "threats to national security" Presidents have done some shady stuffing the past. Great video.

  7. Im no fan of Trump but the Constitution exclusively gives Congress the power to impeach and the 10th Amendment does not grant the court permission to assume whatever power and jurisdiction it believes it should have, it says that it shall not exercise any powers that the Constitution has not explicitly given it. With this new trend of attempting to impeaching every president that comes to office perhaps we do need to amend our system of checks and balances to require that the allegations used against them for impeachment first be proven true by a court of law in order to put an end to these political stunts. I agree that the power to impeach should be relative here but I believe Trumps lawyer has it backwards.

  8. Yeah, the title you had before was really confusing.
"Trump is not immune from prosecution, for now"

I would assume the only time he'd be immune is when he's dead.

  9. Alternate universe: Supreme Court agrees with Trump, Presidents get absolute immunity, Biden immediately has Trump assassinated.

  10. What happens if the SCOTUS gives absolute immunity to Trump? Not saying it's likely, but I'd say it's non-zero

  11. Quite ignorant…. a biased partisan court managed by Democratic party appointees is a joke. The Supreme Court of the United States found in Nixon v. Fitzgerald (1982) that the president has absolute immunity from civil damages actions regarding conduct of their duties.

  12. I'll say it is quite a testament to American democracy that it took two and a half centuries before this question truly arose. As such, it is astoundingly damning of Trump, that he has forced an answer.

  13. I usually apply this to the police, but I find it's even more important here: If you're going to be an enforcer (or executor) of the law, you must also be exemplar of the law.

  14. NOW WHEN THE 1871 LAW WAS ENACTED
WELL THAT'S WHEN THE ESTABLISHMENT WAS CREATED.
BECAUSE OF THE COUP D'ETAT THAT CONGRESS
COMMITTED AGAINST THE CONSTITUTION AND THE
AMERICAN CITIZENS. THERE HAS BEEN A FAKE U S
    GOVERNMENT RULING THE AMERICAN CITIZEN'S
    NOT GOVERNING THE AMERICAN CITIZEN'S.
WHY THE BRITISH CROWN TOOK BACK THEIR COLONIES
BY THE HELP OF THE ROTHSCHILD BANKERS
AND THE ALMIGHTY ROMAN VATICAN EMPIRE.
ROME NEVER WENT AWAY THEY CHANGED ATTIRE.
    HAVE A GREAT DAY

  15. This Double Jeopardy legal "defense" sounds like he's basically saying
"Your honor, I cannot be prosecuted for this crime because my mother already spanked me"

  16. 20:33 So — in other words — in order for Trump to use the Supreme Court as a delaying tactic, he'll need to get either Roberts or Gorsuch to enable him? (Presuming he'll have four votes from Thomas, Alito, Kavanaugh, and Barrett thanks to McConnell and the GOP establishment.) Interesting.

  17. 1:11 the fact that the people he wants around, are people who theoretically are fine with others murdering people as long as they like the murderer says a lot. How is “I can control and manipulate people around me to the point they’d let me get away with anything” a good thing.

  18. 20:22 Re: petition for writ of certiorari – so what does that mean? Is the Supreme Court next or is this another type of delaying motion?

  19. Trump committed multiple crimes to get into office, the muerrel report multiple crimes and put several co-conspirators in jail. He used that power to manipulate several questionable people into the most high court of the land, and the court who will decide his ultimate fate. Theyve already lied multiple times to get onto the court. why would we assume they have any scruples what so ever? one basically admitted to rape and was put on the court.

  20. "A implies B", doesn't mean that "(not A) implies (not B)"
one of the rules of elementary logic with which youngsters fail to get.

  21. The British monarch was not an absolute monarch at the time of the war of independence. In some respects that was a second English civil war, the first of which settled the ‘absolute’ monarchy issue by lopping of the king’s head (though Magna Carta had arguably done that earlier).
