Drivers across the country have launched a protest against the increase in jail terms in ‘hit-and-run’ cases under the new Bharatiya Nyaya (Second) Sanhita, 2023. The criminal code law, which repealed the British-era Indian Penal Code (IPC) provides up to 10 years of punishment for fleeing an accident spot and not reporting the incident. The punishment in such cases was 2 years in the IPC.

Problem in India is people along with the politicians are uneducated. Why there is a punishment because accidental cause can be anything and not just the drivers problem. Also if a driver made a mistake which is not deliberate then how can he afford Rs 7 lakh. If he had 7 lakh Rs in bank he wouldn't drive truck. On top of that 10 years jail 😂
In India you get license even if you dont know to drive. The driving test is nothing but a joke. So many accidents happen because of roads. So look at the root cause rather then the punishment on end result

You can run from the spot to save yourself from the mob after hitting but you have to report it to the Police or to the magistrate . Laws are made considering all the facets .
The drivers face a lot of problems itself….imagine you are going to jail for 10yrs without your mistake and giving money from your pocket while you have financial problem

माना की इस क़ानून मे कूछ कमिया हैँ.. Lekinदेश मे हर साल 4लाख के आसपास एक्सीडेंट होते हैँ और उनमे से 1.5 लाख के आसपास नशे की वजह से….. माल ढोने वाले ड्राइवर भाईयों को पता हैँ की 100 मे से 60% ड्राइवर भूखी, दारू आदि का नशा करके गाड़ी चलाते हैँ…अब नशे की वजह से जो ड्राइवर एक्सीडेंट करके किसी को अपंग बना रहा, मौत दे रहा, घर उजाड़ रहा हैँ किसी का, मासूम बच्चों को यतीम कर रहा हैँ uska😡जिम्मेदार कौन.. कितने ड्राइवर यूनियन ने नशे करने वाले ड्राइवरओ के खिलाफ आंदोलन किये या कोई दिशा निर्देश दिए, या उनको ड्राइवरी नहीं करने का आदेश दिया… हमारे या पानी के टेंकर वाले के पास 10-15 ड्राइवर हैँ.. हर साल 5-6 एक्सीडेंट करते हैँ उनमे से 2-3 एक्सीडेंट नशे की वजह से या ओवर स्पीड..बस इसका जिम्मेदार कौन… एक ड्राइवर ने तो दुश्मनी निकालने के लिए 1 लडके को ठोक दिया.. बस इन्शुरन्स, लाइसेंस की आड़ मे murder, एक्सीडेंट करने का परमिट मिल गया हैँ कूछ गंदे, नशेड़ी ड्राइवरो को… मै ये नी कहता की हर बार गलती ड्राइवर की होती हैँ लेकिन 100 मे से अगर 10 एक्सीडेंट ड्राइवर के नशे, फुकराफंती की वजह से हुए हैँ और कोई मारा गया, अपाहिज हो गया ऎसी ड्राइवरो के लिए ट्रांसपोर्ट यूनियन वालो ने क्या कदम उठाये आज तक 🙏🙏..
