With unprecedented access to Britain’s busiest legal aid practice, The Briefs takes us into the cut-throat world of criminal law. The Briefs follows the skilful lawyers of Tuckers in Manchester, as they look after their clients on cases ranging from blackmail to murder. The lawyers cover everything from taking on a case where a 63 year old woman is accused of drug dealing to a poet accused of benefit fraud. This is how justice really works.

  1. There is a great English saying and that is,”don’t do the Crime if you can’t do the Time”.The hubris that some of these litigants have is mind blowing, don’t they understand anything ?

  2. I laughed out loud when they said „we need shoplifters, we need repeat offenders””because they are at least asking for us” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  3. Back in 1983, on my way to work I got a $15 summons in NYC for jumping the turnstile at a subway station.
It wasn't true bc I had bought enough tokens the night before to last me a week but a
    police officer thought otherwise.
I decided to fight the case so when I went to court the judge asked me: "guilty or innocent?" to which I said innocent.
He then directed me to another room where I was told that in order to fight the case I would need to hire an attorney which in my mind meant paying a whole lot of money that I didn't have so I went back to the judge and told him I would rather pay the $15 fine and get it over with.
Had I known anything about public defenders at the time I would've fought that case bc I knew I was innocent.

Throughout the yrs I've heard police officers are assigned quotas of tickets to give by their superiors in order to bring in revenue to the dept so I guess I was just another innocent victim in the wrong place at the wrong time.
If I'm not mistaken I still have a copy of the receipt of the ticket I paid that day.

  4. Ĺegal system in uk and USA are most money making racket in the world as for asians and black people are more likely to found guilty without proper legal services and laws make money 'judges get paid 'crimnal cps get paid 'also prison serves get paid 'doctors get paid so really crime pays crooked system 'the goverment draws a plan and inject tax payers money to arrest to make money the public will never get justice in a corrupt nation like uk and USA no wonder african nations are waking up to kick the Roman imperialists out of africa 'the war in Ukraine was started by Zionist bankers to intensify the war putin is more likely to bomb UK and Europe

  5. Whoa you really feel for these lawyers some of their clients are dumb as a bag of bricks. They flatly cant even put their egos aside and have the audacity to blame the lawyers for giving them advice they don't want to hear.

  6. Get more for smoking weed in court law than a peofile gets for child abuse what a have seen in court law look like pedofile has judges that protect them FACT. unjustified save our children

  7. These defence solicitors are awful, what sort of defence lawyer would allow them to show the phone they stole on camera

  8. I called tuckers plus wrote to them in the hope act on the only four law magnacarter which apply in the Uk and just system.

It's based on justice will not be sold or bought and irrelevant of fee legal to inform bail hearing evidence to come to light person not committed crime and person reported the crime actually guilty of obstruction of justice and false allegations resulting inarrest.

life imprisonment for person making the allegations.

not one legal aid solicitor act on obligation to up hold the law..

Only intrest is £180 interviews and aid police abuse funding..

  9. she can get in the loft

She's a divie (stupid) you can see that , just looking at her
