So, if I have an issue for years in a marriage that isn't resolved. I can't say, unless x happens, I am going to leave? What if I'm at that level myself and seriously about to divorce the other person if they don't change their behaviors?
The ONLY thing I ask my wife to do, is keep a clean house. She doesn't have to work because I pay for everything. I come home from working a ten hour day to her watching TV or scrolling on her phone, and the entire house is trashed. I can't even walk barefoot in my house because my feet will get so dirty because she thinks sweeping and mopping is a once a month, or every other month, job. There are flies in the bathrooms because she won't clean them properly. So, if I want an actual hygienic bathroom to use, I have to clean it.
So, I'm getting really resentful at this point. I'm paying the bills and now having to take care of the cleaning too. I've asked her, what are you offering in this relationship because I feel like I'm giving a lot here? She can't name anything.
Even at that point I can't say, unless you start doing the one and only thing I ask to do, I'm leaving, because I can't take it anymore. I've already got the paperwork drawn up. It's not just that the house isn't clean. It's the disrespect of me doing everything, barely asking for anything in return, and getting nothing. It's made me stop being as interested in her physically because my brain associates her with the grossness that is our home. Again, she doesn't work, I don't even ask her to cook, we don't have kids, and I'm at my breaking point with her.
