When he says “…can be prosecuted by both criminal and civil law” it’s important to know that many retailers like JCPenny, Target, Walmart etc. will make sure you go to jail, then they will sue you for the cost of the merchandise you stole or attempted to steal, even if they got the items back, as well as all the expense it cost them to pursue your charges. If they are a corporation that owns many brands like Safeway that operates multiple grocery stores with different names you can be trespassed from any of their brands, and a lot of stores like Walmart have now implemented facial recognition software in many of their problematic locations. I know of one guy that due to untreated mental illness shoplifted and was trespassed from the property. Fast forward about 18 months and he was walking through the Walmart parking lot to get the bus stop, when a Cop pulled up on him, and arrested him for trespassing. Just some things to keep in mind if you like bad Karma and jumpsuits.

Yes serious consequences of getting your ass beat by a police officers that go by their ego rather than the law you have the Fifth Amendment where you can just plain downright tell them that you will not speak without an attorney present I invoke my fifth amendment and most times if you do that you get the shit beat out of you for being uncooperative and while they're beating the shit out of you they'll be screaming stop resisting stop resisting little pansy ass Thin Blue Line gang you know it's against the law to desecrate American flag but they don't give a shit they're more worried about their gang
