Earlier this month, at Liberty University, members of the National Association of Christian Lawmakers held their 2024 National Policy Conference.

One of their main goals? Overturn church/state separation by taking advantage of the Supreme Court’s current right-wing extremism.

This is a clip from my recent livestream:

  1. How long before they go back as far as the institution of Slavery and say its abolition was 'not in our history'?

  2. Why do you only talk about the Christian religion? I know being atheist means you don’t believe in any religion so why focus on this one?

  3. Isn't the "History and Tradition" line of thought a logical fallacy–like Appeal to Authority or something? I mean, George Washington was killed by having his blood drained to treat a cold, that's who we're relying on in the modern day when we appeal to "History and Tradition".

  4. It's worrying that self proclaimed christians want to "restore faith in America" yet this is how they do it. Rather than being a good and inspiring example they're legal bullies who want to push it down everyone's throat.

  5. Thanks Hemant, always good. America's religiosity is flabbergasting, it's insidious tentacles having a grip in everything. 🇦🇺👍

  6. If these guys get in power you can say goodbye and probably be prosecuted for any watching of atheist YT videos.

  7. There shouldn't be a Association of Christian Lawmakers. I wish when Obama did choose he had the backbone of ramming in Garland even though he's Garland isn't progressive enough. Of course they don't believe in the Constitution. And of course bull Mike Johnson was saying about It was to protect Churches from Government. No not even look at history and real history that it was to protect Government from Church. Every conservative whinning about government overreach. How about Church and Religious overreach in and have the audacity to say freedom just not for women gays ect. not even living breathing children but those zygote and fetuses. Of course the very thing Separation of Church and State.

  8. Agree with you on almost everything here and you were going well until you started blaming progressives and people with standards instead of the corrupt politicians who make us not want to vote for them.

  9. 'This is how it has to be – That's it' mentality. Let us for a while move away from this to a different example. Since Dogs and Cats as pets is part of culture, we do not want some people to turn violent, after starting to torture or illtreating them. So, rules are made for proper behavior, by maintaining their safety. When you watch a giant, furlongs long Fish Farm with billions of fish in them on youtube…they are seen being illtreated. So, they do not have any protection? But, Rule is a Rule, Right?

  10. This will bring out the Satanists looking for equal representation to troll them…but what if they don't care?

  11. an extreme far right Christian minority is ensconced with power and is forcing its anti freedom policies on a liberal majority. it is against the Constitution which they quote quite often to justify their actions. it is illegal made 'legal' by some legislatures and courts. it is not in the best interests of most people.

  12. So they force their religion onto others, while saying they're the good guys? How arrogant do they hav… no, nevermind. To ask for self awareness of them is asking too much.

  13. Christians weren't always opposed to abortion, as I've heard face to face now a few times. Not hardly!

  14. I was worried about the guy who wants to role things back to the 1940's does that mean unwinding Brown vs. Board of Education and all civil rights. They're going after civil rights on religious grounds. They want to go back to the immediate post war era, as a mythological time. I think these people have no problem with Jim Crow laws.

  15. If they get more of what they want, they’ll start fighting each other. I’ll be different brands of Christianity Don’t get along, except when they get together to fight the rest of us. I don’t want to see it gets to that point. Not for them, but for the rest of us
