  1. I was hit on my bike in 2022 by a sober driver. Hearing the witness say “why didn’t he just stop” was very healing and validating to me. Also the guy that said “it’s not a normal human reaction”.

Something my therapist said was “be grateful you will never understand why a person did something so horrible because it signifies how different you are to someone who could be so callous”.

Also wow I wouldn’t have been able to watch this a year ago. I’m progressing! 😮

  2. It looks like there was a second blood draw later, and both were way higher than legal limit. As well, apparently 2 pistols in his suv, some cocaine, empty vodka bottles, various pills. Allegedly found in his suv. Was charged with dui manslaughter and placed in custody in may 2023…. I don't see any updates anywhere yet about any outcome but I'm not as familiar with us case lookups as I am Canadian, so I'm not sure if there's a listing somewhere that I can find more info on… Otherwise it appears that he has yet to be judged. For an incident over a year ago, damn.

  3. I don't know the final outcome but in May of 2023 he was charged with DUI Manslaughter and leaving the scene and his 2 blood draws came back 0.259 ang 0.306…. He also has prescription drugs and cocaine and a handgun in his vehicle but no drugs were reported to be found in his blood

  4. Will the fact that accident happened before 5:30 PM and the blood draw took place at 12:30 AM have any effect on the results in court? Obviously, this was horrible and I am not saying he should get off or anything but curious.

  5. FYI…at 0.306, his BAC was nearly 4X the legal limit…officers also found 2 empty vodka bottles, cocaine and various prescription pills in his car…

  6. I think it’s so interesting to hear what really good lawyers have to say about stuff like this. It’s kind of like CLR Bruce Rivers but with a team. I really like this!

  7. Don't need a search warrant in Florida if there's a death or serious injury. Just a matter of course, in the investigation.

  8. Ehhh… Wrong alcohol doesn’t have a smell to it. The smell comes from the way the body processes it. Internal osmosis.

  9. One of the witnesses said in his statement black SUV, but the cop interviewing him actually said blue, vehicle brand and type and asked him for confirmation. Can they actually do that?

  10. 16:00 – There's also reasons beyond the investigation for not talking to the police in this situation. Someone just died, and I'm pretty sure their family may sue for wrongful death. Anything he says or does while in the presence of law enforcement becomes a matter of public record that could be used against him in a civil trial. But he's probably too drunk to realize the initial issue of "he just killed someone and could go to prison for some time." let alone any down the road ramifications.

  11. Really like your videos. If I may suggest some sound wall panels in your recording space to help smooth out the sound a bit. 🙂 keep these up, great videos.

  12. When a person is involved in an accident they are in kind of shock and their recollection of details isn't complete. I am saying this from experience.

  13. Me, when he said the shop is on Congress: "Don't say in Delray, don't say in Delray…"
    Man: "Delray Beach."

Well, this happened then right around my apartment.

  14. Ya know we need law enforcement we really do BUT we need law enforcement will do the job according to the lawd and follow the constitution. Right now the way things have been and are being done there is no trust or respect for them and they brought that on themselves and redpect and trust have to been earned and it wont be an easy road to get that back.

  15. Question: what happens to a person, who is on time released medications, that are considered nar{otics or a controlled substance?

I take m•rphine, at scheduled times, throughout the day. I have a genetic chronic illness, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, where my connective tissues are incorrectly produced by my body. Before anyone says “just take a collagen supplement for the correct form of collagen”; my body corrupts that collagen, and turns it into the incorrect form my body produces. I have lots of chronic pain, and frequently have partial joint dislocations, also known as a subluxations. My pain level, on a good day is a 7/10, and on a bad day, I don’t want to be here anymore. Part of my pain management is scheduled m•rphine times to deal with the chronic, always there pain. This has been my routine, for many years. Also, I have other controlled medications, like h¥drocod•ne, for acute pain. I am very diligent about making sure I feel safe to drive, before ever getting behind the wheel. I have been on these controlled narc medications for a long time. For h¥drocodon£, it’s been well over a decade, and m•rphine has been prescribed for 7-8 years. These medications allow me to live a better life, than if I didn’t. With my chronic usage, I know I can feel a difference, but when the medication isn’t working as well, and a dose increase is needed. With dose changes, other medications are adjusted first, and the increase dosing only happens if other options have failed.

Onto my questions, with some longer, more nuanced wording: should I be concerned, about driving, when I am on a time released medication? Even when I feel safe to drive, should I not be driving? I get medical checks, and have an open honest relationship, with my medical team, if they say I can drive, is that sufficient or should more thought be put in? If a car accident happened, and I was the one hit, could I be held responsible, if a blood draw or medical records were needed?

I live in Iowa, and I want to make sure I understand the laws, and what could happen, if my medications were to be brought up, and how to safely avoid issues, if something happened. I would love some insight.

  16. Bystander was a real one.

Yo, what was that from the cop explaining what he did??? You don't tell the suspect what happened and what they did, you have them walk YOU through what happened and what they did.

  17. Should law enforcement officials 'screw' a suspect more or less depending on how the official feels, either about the crime, or the suspect? I know, we are human and that's part of being human.. but is it safe to let human determine another humans fate, outside the court system where the answer is, obviously, yes.. but down to the cop level seems iffy. If this motorist happened to be a friend of the cop.. would the crime be any different? Who thinks the cop would push just as hard to make sure his friend goes to jail (gets what he deserves) as much as he is covering all the bases with this guy. I do not advocate for the drunk driver or drunk driving IN ANY WAY!!! Drunk driving is at the top of my list of crimes.. how any could think it's alright to put every other person, on the road, near the road or in his path, at risk of injury or worse is unacceptable and should be judged HARSHLY. It may not stop this guy but it WILL make the next guy(person) think a little longer.

  18. In these videos, I wish sometimes you all would respond as defense attorneys to the suspect rather than proud prosecutors happy the officer acted properly in building a case.

  19. When I originally watched this video, I was hoping this would be one that the lawyers reviewed as well. Thank you Kevin.

  20. So those stem ends he made about being under multiple medications is now inadmissible. Right? They happened before Miranda.

  21. A friend accidentally ran over and killed somebody. This happened about midnight with pitch black conditions. The deceased was a teen dressed in all black, standing in the middle of the road, texting. My friend felt an unexpected bump, stopped his car, went back, found the body, called 9-1-1, then waited for and cooperated with the police. My friend was not arrested, but was very shook up.
