⚖️ Do you need a great lawyer? I can help! ⚖️
Harvey and Mike. Mike and Harvey. Have you ever wanted to know if they’re good lawyers? Today we’re going to find out. Stay until the end for my Legal Accuracy Grade.

SUITS has been highly requested; probably the most requested show on this channel. I think I missed Suits the first time around because I had already graduated from law school when it came out. But I’m glad I got a chance to watch this. This week i’m deconstructing the first episode of Suits.

Custom Suits:
Ties:
Tie Clips/Bars:
Pocket Squares:

▶ Why Indochino Suits? (50% off Premium Suits + free shipping) [ Off-the-rack suits NEVER fit right. Indochino makes fully custom suits that fit perfectly using any material I want, with all of the options I want. And they cost 1/3rd of what normal suits costs. I’ve purchased them with my own money for years, so I’m thrilled they are now a sponsor.

▶ Why Ties from TheTieBar? (Free shipping on orders over $50) [ Normal ties are too fat. Skinny ties are too skinny. So these days I only wear ties that are exactly 2.5” wide. They are fashionable without being hipster. You see them in all of my videos. TieBar ties are perfect, come in every color I want, and never cost more than $19.

▶ Why these Tie Clips? [ It’s really hard to find affordable tie clips that are the right size (1.5”), look good, and are great quality. These tie bars are all three. Plus the 3-pack gives a variety of styles. They pair perfectly with 2.5” ties from TheTieBar (above).

▶ Why these Pocket Squares? [ I like my pocket squares perfectly, well, square. Like straight-out-of-Mad-Men square. The only way to do that is with a stiffer material that keeps its shape. I’ve exhaustively tried dozens of pocket squares, and these are by far the best. It’s how I get the perfectly flat pocket square you see in my videos.

I get asked a lot about whether being a practicing attorney is like being a lawyer on TV. I love watching legal movies and courtroom dramas. It’s one of the reasons I decided to become a lawyer. But sometimes they make me want to pull my hair out because they are ridiculous.

Today I’m taking a break from teaching law students how to kick ass in law school to take on lawyers in the movies and on TV. While all legal movies and shows take dramatic license to make things more interesting (nobody wants to see hundreds of hours of brief writing), many of them have a grain of truth.

This is part of a continuing series of “Lawyer Reaction” videos. Got a legal movie or TV show you’d like me to critique? Let me know in the comments!

Props to Dr. Mike’s Real Doctor Reacts ( and Wired’s Technique Critique ( for the inspiration.

  1. 2 minutes in, harvey is already a fraud. now I know why I liked suits from the get-go 😀

  2. Fun video, but would have been nice to know if Mike's interveiw answers to Harvey were correct

  3. Why didn't they just hire him as a paralegal, get him into law school, and then have him pass the bar? The entire premise of this show is silly. There's no legal requirements for a paralegal, just firm criteria.

  4. I havent seen the show since the third or so episode originally released. Im not sure if he passed the bar, but i definitely think i remember he said he flunked college but he did he take the bar.

  5. Objection. Mike doesn't just have a photographic memory. He's also have a really good logical thinking skills. Meaning he's really smart…

  6. Ok…..but we do understand it's a show that has to have an exciting plot every episode and bigger plots for every season right? Gotta kinda stretch stuff to make that happen. I think everyone knows not everything in the show was 100% EXACTLY like real life lol

  7. Bro, no lawyer is straight up, trustworthy, or willing to give up the client just by handing over damming evidence in discovery.

  8. 10:41 I'm glad lawyers are actually honest like you. Fun fact: the Honest Lawyer was a pub I went to a few time in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, when I was 20. Someone explained that it was a pun, but maybe I misunderstood, and am glad to know it's also a reality. ❤✌️😊

  9. 10:18 objection: we knew Mike being a fraud was a problem, and yet it's a fundamental part of the premise of the show…

  10. 00:52 objection: please see my observations listed under any particular episode, timestamped like this one… I love you already. ❤✌️😊

  11. "He's committing fraud every time, he signs a doc & pretends to be a lawyer, not just once. "
That's the exact same thing Anita Gibbs, the prosecutor on Mike Ross' trial for fraud argues in S5.
    Kudos to Legal Eagle❤

  12. Mike passed the bar exam at the time of his interview. Does passing the bar exam make Mike an attorney?

  13. Watching this in 2024 and knowing how channel has developed a new version would be awesome

  14. Honestly i watched the show for a season and a half and stopped cause I couldn’t handle the fact that Mike was working without a real degree. Sure he is smart and knows what he is doing, but it’s morally and ethically wrong to work as an attorney when he has never been to law school. I just couldn’t watch the show after a while. If he is so smart… how is it that he can’t find a way to go to college and get a law degree despite the fact that he got caught selling a math paper to the dean’s daughter. There is always a way. If he truly wanted to study law. He would have found a way… and he seems like a determined guy… who knows how to get shit done… that’s why I have so much issue with this show. Such a waste of a potentially smart guy.

  15. Literally that’s what the whole show revolves around. Mike terrified that he has corrupted his morales while trying to do good and Harvey justifying it so long as they won. Great show

  16. The fact that legal can't even comprehend that a Lawyer would bend the truth to push events in his favor shows exactly what kind of laywer he his lol. Dude has been bamboozled day after day in court while sitting and wondering "wow how are so many verdicts or recounting of events favoring the other side?" brother they are LYING. Perjury is par for the course.

  17. Should be studying for the bar but I’m watching this… thanks a lot @legaleagle 🤦🏻‍♂️

  18. Not even sure why someone would make such a dull video so I came to see 😂😂😂 Suits is 1 of my top 3 shows ever will never think otherwise ❤

  19. If you lose your bar license in America, is there a way to get it back or you`re done for life?

  20. Well it wasn't fraud or a lie since he had a deal with the lawfirm and they BOTH agreed, then he change his mind "just because"…. he was just making sure his client followed through on the already made deal… so this LegalEagle probable needs to watch the episode
