  1. What does a defense attorney do if they're repoing their client with all their might and they actually believe their client, but then they see some very damning evidence that nearly leaves no doubt to the truth of their client being guilty?
Could you imagine going into a trial like this and having something like that happen? Because Anne Taylor really seems to believe him.
…but how does she handle it if say, he actually is seen on some footage somewhere nearby – after they've given his "alibi"…?
Is she professional enough to disregard and still defend his innocence?

  2. The one thing about all this is that someone went to a store and bought a tropical print shirt in black and white. Some mysteries will never be solved

  3. Why is the trial date a year away?? Is the defense hoping that people will forget about the case?

  4. They need a better camera . I cannot see counsel or Bryan that far back . But I guess we just need to hear.

  5. Why does he get to be in court in a suit when a jury isnt even close to being in The picture

  6. How do they know how long a trial will be if they don’t have all the documents to estimate a time?

  7. Re: mutual discovery in potential mitigation phase: Sorry, it seems like the Defense is just chipping and chipping away from within Jun 2 2025 trial date with all these pre-emptive 'asks' that could delay the trial date. The judge keeps agreeing, not considering she'll look for any reason to delay. At the end of the day, the Prosecution has the burden and isn't making such motion scenarios that can inflate the schedule. None of this considers the delay in seeking a change of venue and the results of that. Love listening to your interceding commentary. I listen to these vids at 1.25 speed (the judge is a snorefest) and you are just as eloquent, on top of your self-described 1.5 natural speaking speed.

  8. I live in Moscow Idaho. If the trial is here in Latah County I think it will take them a long time to seat a jury. Lots of people in the county do know about the case. There are also a lot of people in our county who probably wouldn't be able to serve on a death sentance case. From my experience living in this county (as well as several other in Idaho) I think there are more people who are morally opposed to the death penalty than your average Idaho county.

  9. I love Ann Taylor!! What is it about her? She is so down to earth. The way she speaks isn’t arrogant or overtly persuasive, it just sounds like her way is the obvious way. She seems very experienced and she has prepared both the court and the prosecution to grant her space. No extreme emotions, just leadership. I think BK is guilty from what we’ve seen so far, but I’m going to enjoy watching her at work.

Thanks for all your great coverage Real Lawyer!

  10. Its so nice to see a reasonable judge after watching Karen Read all these months. Almost forgot what its like for all parties to be corgial.

  11. Can you help me understand something? If the defense REALLY believes that their client is innocent, why would they bother inquiring about mitigation and what the aggravating factors would be and needing to know that in advance? That's basically saying, well, if he IS found guilty, we need to know what to fight to prevent the death penalty,,, I just don't understand why they would still go that route if they really believed he was innocent. That to me is like, well, he DID it, but if you can prove it, then we need to know what our next argument will be.

  12. I wished this platform worked like the Democrat voting rules because I'd subscribe 100 times!!! 😉

  13. Its absolutely insane to me how LONG it takes a case to go to trial. Why would you refuse a speedy trial? Seems like when you do that, it can take 4 yrs lol (I've only watched the Sarah Boone whole story this far). It also seems like a regular, not high profile, takes about a year. I cant imagine sitting in jail or even being out on bail, with something like this hanging over my head.

  14. Replay crew! 🫶🏽 Thank you Peter for continuing discuss this case. I hope that this trial date sticks, but we shall see.

  15. Definitely, this case is huge compared to Karen Read case. Many people in CT don't know Karen Read but everyone know the Kohberger case. I have a college kid so this is scary.

  16. I'm sorry if this is a dumb question but here goes: how is Anne supposed to present something for mitigation when she has said he's innocent?

  17. I was homeless, got into drugs, went into prisons, then i got to know Jesus, He changed my life.. Now i make 22k weekly. have a home, a wife, a lovely daughter… A child of God. HALLELUJAH

  18. LYK, your channel has grown so fast! Been here from almost the beginning. Love your explanations and unbiased views. Keep it up!

  19. I just don’t understand why the defense is dragging this out. If you’re truly innocent, you should easily know where you were and how to prove you didn’t do it by now. If you’re guilty, this should’ve been plenty of time to come up with a legal strategy. I guess the whole defense team are taking drives to see the moon and stars instead of working.

  20. I live in the Netherlands. I definitely heard about this case pretty soon after the murders happened, and before the name of BK was known to the public. But I only heard about KR or registered her case just before the trial started and some of the fuckery came out. The case of BK seems like a slasher movie, and I think that draws a lot of publicity. Also the death penalty is on the table, which also draws more attention.

  21. Public interest will drop right off with a year wait thats a good thing..judge is happy with that.

  22. For LYK – Is it safe to say the state hasn't submitted any slam dunk evidence that he did this crime? Say like his license plate # or him out of the car? Wouldn't we see a plea deal if they did show that evidence to the defense?

  23. Peter, the trial for Alexis Avila (sp?) in Arizona, is getting ready to start. She’s the one who hid her pregnancy, went to the er, told them she had back pain, gave birth in the bathroom, and threw her baby in the garbage killing him. It sound FAR more interesting than Baldwins case. Not sure if it’s going to be televised but it should be.

  24. I like your vacation party shirt. Thank you for covering Koberger because I don’t like watching AT and JJJ in in real time.

  25. Hi Peter, any chance you could give your opinion on Howard Blum’s new book about this case, I didn’t think he would be allowed publish a book like this before the trial. Do you think this book will contaminate a jury pool? Many thanks from Ireland

  26. I don't know but I just don't like this jugde for this case. He seems to be so bland (sorry). I wish it was handled by a jugde with more character🤷

  27. You are the best person covering this. You come across as fair and your explanations of legal terms and procedures are appreciated.
