Rodric Williams, a former litigation lawyer at Post Office Ltd and the current head of legal, is grilled by Jason Beer KC for his “attempt at an apology” in his witness statement.

Williams, who joined the organisation in 2012, also told colleagues “we don’t need to do research on Horizon”, and if subpostmasters do not like it “they can choose not to provide services for us”, an inquiry has heard.

  1. This is what happens when you get someone who hasn't been groomed and prepped by media management to lie and deflect.
You get bumbling answers and the face of someone who cannot hide their guilty part in not only the miscarriage of justice but the cover up campaign to hide the truth from the victims and the public. This is what corporate lawyers are paid to do every day of the week around the world.

  2. To PostbOffice Lawyer you failed to act properly in this situation.
You were part of the group that set about fitting up Postmasters & Mistresses!!
Now it should be the turn of Post Office .any cement from top down to be prosecuted

  3. No-one did anything wrong. He didn't do anything wrong. So nothing went wrong. Then why is there an inquiry? what a buffoon.

  4. BEER ; "lets look at the attempt"
    Brilliant.
If the legal profession has a "couple of bad apples" Im fairly certain a good chunk of them work for the Post Office in the shape of Rodric Williams and Jarmal Singh…..both nice guys I am sure but certainly not masters of their crafts by any stretch.

  5. Another disingenuous heartless cruel sadistic selfish Post Office liar. No apologies. He deserves a few years in a penal colony doing hard labour.

  6. Roderic is a John Wayne fan obviously
"Never apologise , it's a sign of weakness"

What a horrible creature , I hope NZ will take home ba k after he is jailed for Corporate Fraud .😮

  7. This "lawyer" wasted so much inquiry time rifling through paperwork and asking for questions to be repeated or reworded. I can only assume that he was playing for time whilst he looked for a "non answer" to the questions Jason Beer was superb as always.

  8. Watching this bloke was bloody awful. The weird laughter, the obfuscation. Just s real odd character

  9. For 2 days I have watched this guy squirming in his seat.
I bet Thursday evening he had to changes his pants.
It was quite funny at times and embarrassing other times to watch.
Never, have I seen such a mumbling, panicking, stuttering person trying to justify himself to others.
I lost count how many times he said…….. "I don't recall."
    "I can't remember."

The lawyers for the Sub Postmaster's have been absolutely fantastic……. I wouldn't wonna be up in front of them.
This whole process has been really good to watch & the last 2 days have been really interesting.

  10. I write to Mr. Beer to congratulate him on the manner with which he conducts questioning. If you watch the whole days two days footage, some of the looks Mr Beer gives Rodric Williams a just delightful to watch. Even the great Mr Beer couldn't hide his reaction to Mr Rodric squirming about trying not to answer in a way that acknowledged the blindingly obvious points being landed, and not in his favour.

  11. Rodric Williams has no more right to walk on god's green earth than a weasel! Less in fact"

  12. The man is an embarrassment to the legal profession. One hopes the bar association are drafting his dismissal this week…

  13. In his statement h " regrets these events " as if it was a one off, but this spineless creep is reasonable for the prosecution hundreds of sub Post Office staff. His statement and performance in this clip show clearly he knew he was prosecuting innocent people, He needs to go to jail, he can reflect on the events from their.
