19. I initially had great sympathy for the Palestinians, and there is no doubt that British imperial diplomacy screwed all parties when this whole mess started. And Israel's lack of control over vigilante settlers definitely contributed to the current situation. But Arabs keep banging their heads against a wall that’s never going to fall. From 1948 on with three or four Arab-Israeli wars and hundreds of smaller conflicts in which the Israelis ALWAYS prevail, it's time for the Arabs to face the fact that they will NEVER defeat Israel. Israel is not going anywhere! With EVERY war the Arabs lost more and more territory to Israel, so the land for a Palestinian State is smaller and smaller, and Israeli control over you tightens. You lost Jerusalem. And now the same pattern is repeating. Hamas attacks Israel and Israel will pound the s*it out of the Palestinians who die at a 30+ to 1 rate, the world gets upset and demands a cease-fire, and then the whole process repeats. I'm 74 years old, how many times have I seen the pattern repeated over and over and over. After losing militarily over and over and over the Palestinians should have accepted Israel's right to exist and get the best deal they can and stuck to it. Now the Palestinian people will suffer again for this barbaric revenge attack. What do they get from it, only more death and suffering. Hamas has not made life better for the Palestinian people, it's a failed movement.
