Let this young man go .Disgusting what the liberal NDP government has done to Canada .
He was the victim until he got control of the situation. The video shows he and another man had control of the robber led him out of the store and then assaulted him with the bat. He was legal until the f8nal assault. At that moment he became the attacker and it was no longer self defense.
According to the video, the "victim" disarmed the man, got him out of the store, and was no longer in danger. Then he decided to hit him in the back of the head, AFTER the danger was over, and hit him again, with the bat, after he was down. That isn't self defense, that's assault.
Criminals around the world are laughing at Canadian law. How does this even make any sense?
If we have the rights to bear arms less of these attacks would happen

This is even a question? Self-defence hasn’t been legal in Canada, since at least the 90’s. This has been a major, long-standing problem in Canada for far too long, with NO politicians willing to fight for it, even when the evidence in any particular case is overwhelmingly indicative of self-defence. To me, this screams of liberal delusions. As in, they think if they outlaw something, any problems associated with them are just going to magically stop happening. Our justice system is broken and corrupt, we need a MASSIVE do-over.
Same thing happening in liberal USA cities criminals run free to do what they want

14 months kid was hit three times with same bat before decide to protect himself. So kid can't work he is the type of hard-working immigrant we want he looks like he believes in Canadian beliefs and values, not like the types of immigrants we've seen lately that tramples on those beliefs. We need new government that will protect the good people and Peterborough certainly need a better sheriff.

Um, this isn't self defense. The guy already ran outside. The clerk followed him. This is vigilantism not self-defense. The clerk could have easily locked the door the moment the robber left. Instead, he followed the robber and that's when he hit him multiple times in the BACK of the head. This is why the clerk is being charged.
Not self defence . Vigilant. You can't do this .
