Rajya Sabha Independent MP Kartikeya Sharma extended support to the three new Criminal Laws on December 21. The Independent MP from Haryana talked tough about the ‘colonial laws’ formed under the leadership of Lord Macaulay and lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah for making the new laws possible. On December 20th, Home Minister Amit Shah had said that the new criminal law bills are in consonance with the spirit of the Constitution and have been brought keeping in mind the well-being of the people of the country. Amit Shah said the bills will encourage the use of technology in giving justice to people. He said “mob-lynching” had been included as an offence in the bills.
