(warning: distressing) A judge in Las Vegas was attacked by a defendant on January 3 while he was being sentenced for attempted battery, leading to a melee that involved court officials and attorneys.

30-year-old Deobra Delone Redden could be seen leaping across the judge’s bench to get to Clark County District Judge Mary Kay Holthus, landing on top of her, with others trying to peel him off. Prior to the sentencing, Redden’s defense attorney asked if Holthus could give his client probation instead of incarcerating him, saying he was diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder and went through mental health treatment, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Holthus was reportedly injured, but not hospitalized, while a courtroom marshal was treated for a gash on the head and a dislocated shoulder, according to ABC News. Redden now faces new felony charges, including battery on a protected person. #WatchThis

  1. I saw this on the news a couple days ago. The judge is okay but had some injuries. So glad he's in such a better place now, lol!! He proved her right without a doubt! Now he'll get more felonies against him and more jail time! He's such a Moron! 😂

  2. He may not have any resent guilt, no time to investigate his accusations? 😢 It's all bad…. Said she soiled herself 😮

  3. 🥷:😟:I'm in a better place in my life… I'm not doing crime NOW 🤷
🧑‍⚖️:😒"I think it's time you're held accountable for your actions…"
🥷:🤬 Naw fvk dat byshe 🦸💢😡

(He obviously likes to hit women…)
    STah Sstah ssssst st STAAAAAB!!!!

  4. He didn’t change his ways otherwise he would accepted the consequences of his actions like a real man. I hope he got even more time now.

  5. Judges … Provoke these events by using inflammatory language that only ads insult to injury …. Just keep it professional…. See ? Easy ?

  6. the way you say those words, you thrashed any of his hope left. go with the sentence but is this how u talk to each other in america? can you not say it in a nice way? now ask yourself if you got some bruises if you deserved that, could you have avoided that?

  7. That guy was so full of sh**! The dude is a straight-up criminal for life. He even admitted that he was trying to kill her.

  8. That man didn't want to go back to prison and she didn't show any remorse by how she talked to him. I'm not justifying his actions cause that was definitely wrong and he made his situation worse. For every action there is a equal but opposite reaction. You don't know what people are dealing with.
