  1. For those of you looking for the script of today's story “Myself” by Claire, here it is for your reference! Feel free to read along as you listen to the video:

    “Myself

Hi, guys, I'm Claire. Let me tell you about myself and my lovely family. I’m 24 years old. I’m half-Asian and half-American.

My mom is from Asia, and my dad is from here, the United States. They met while studying for their MBA or Master of Business Administration. After dating for about a year, my mom and dad got married, and my mom decided to move to the USA.

They run a restaurant in Los Angeles. Since my mom is from Asia and my dad is American, the food they make is a mix of both worlds. They call it Asian fusion food.

My older brother, James, and I were born and grew up in Los Angeles, California, which is home to one of America's most iconic landmarks, the Hollywood Sign.

James works for Google, a big company that creates technology and Internet services. Google has its headquarters in Silicon Valley, in the southern part of the San Francisco Bay Area. Sometimes, we visit him there, and we often take the opportunity to explore the Bay Area. I love seeing the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco – it's so huge!

I just graduated from university a few months ago and am looking for a job. Since I love traveling, I want to be a flight attendant to travel the world for free. I've applied to several airlines and am currently waiting to hear back before proceeding with the next steps. So, wish me luck.

As I said before, my mom is from Asia, so I love everything about Asia. I love Korean series, so in my free time, I watch them on Netflix all day long. I also love K-Pop; Lisa from BlackPink is my favorite singer. She's a member of the South Korean girl group Blackpink. She is so adorable.

Apart from that, I love Asian food, like Thai and Indian cuisine. My favorites are Pad Thai and Mango Sticky Rice. I’m thinking of traveling to Asia to see the culture and try more food. Do you guys have any places to recommend? Please let me know in the comments.”

Stay tuned for a complete PDF version of the script, which I'll share soon for those who'd like to dive deeper into the lesson. Happy learning!
