  2. Great info about Social Security. I’m a CS with them and you guys hit the nail on the head. Remember vets, unlike VA, SSA’s definition for disability is havingan injury or illness that is expected to last 12 months or more or end in death AND keeps your from earning over the SGA limit.

According to the IRS website, disabled veterans who receive an increase in their disability percentage from the Department of Veterans Affairs can claim a federal tax refund by filing Form 1040-X to amend their previous tax return.
