  2. Apparently Crystal said Adam was abandoned by his mother as a child.
Shanda Vander Ark was abused by her father and step-father.
They are broken people, sociopaths, which can be created by natural "mean traits" combined with childhood, particularly parental trauma…but it's no an excuse to not only continue but magnify the abuse on their own children.
They should've gotten help earlier, not have children until they're deemed fit, have continuous therapy for the rest of their life
and be monitored if there are children in their care.

  3. Reading comments…”grandma”? I don’t remember her saying she is a grandma. Maybe she is, but that is an assumption, not evidence nor relevant.

The original timeline for her was Dec 2019 to March 2020- she wasn’t asked about a duffle bag or bag.

She testified she gave Kayla the phone after Adam “softened”. Neither side asked what happened then or how Adam reacted to that.

Both sides appeared to be surprised that the timeline changed to March 2021. She testified her boss has records. Clearly neither side had those records with them at the time.

March 2021 they were living at Kayla’s mom house onDubuque street (late March). The prosecutor asked specifically about Union street when he began. Then he asked was it Union street that she took them back to.

I think we may hear more about this on day 8.

  4. Maintenance man collaborates Kaylas testimony that Adam was getting paranoid about being watched by police or that she was snitching. Tearing down light fixtures and the thermostat for cameras isn't innocent behavior. The drug dealer collaborated that he didn't see Harmony in the car, only the boys. Kayla testified that Harmony was covered by a comforter when the dealer came to the car so he wouldn't see her black eyes.
As far as the defense trying to pin Kayla for the murder because she had the bag that Harmony was in at the Econo Lodge, it was also along with Adam. Adam had Kayla bring the bag in the stroller to his place of work. It isn't like Kayla is just crusing the block with the bag in the stroller. If you were gonna be in public with the bag, putting in the stroller would potentially make it look like an oversized diaper bag.
I don't think Kayla killed Harmony, but I do think she had more involvement in the bathroom than she is saying.
I don't think Adam is in the courtroom cause he can't control himself and would show what a violent person he is.

  5. Ok im catching up late night. This defense attorney is so deeming and a B. at –1:55:30 or so she actually says to the detective after his response was “I don’t recall” she says “ok, im going to try a little bit slower then….” Like he is an idiot. I’d be so pissed

  6. The young man named Brandon seemed very sweet, very polite. I hope when he gets out a local employer rembers his cooperation in this case and gives him a good job. Sounds like he struggled with addiction, but when he's sober I bet he's a good kid.

  7. Rose Smith was a *powerful* witness for the prosecution. The fear she has of Adam is palpable, even years later. She had the words to “soften” Adam’s rage; little Harmony didn’t.

  8. I dont think I can stand to hear this story again. Literally one of the worst child abuse cases. Put that custody judge and everyone who was responsible for making sure that little girl was in good hands on trial and Ill be interested.

  9. Defense has not created any doubt at all of Adam’s guilt in the murder of Harmony nor of his abuse of her corpse. His refusal to be present at his trial also speaks volumes of his lack of character.

  10. Has anyone heard anything about the blanket that Harmony was supposedly cover up with? I haven’t heard anything about it, unless I missed it

  11. Who was the genius judge that awarded custody of Harmony to Adam?? He had an extensive criminal history that included stabbing, shooting, drugs, etc. I'd like to see that judge face charges…

  12. As hard as this trial has been to witness, I'm left with the feeling that this is Harmony's story…and as cruel and unfair and tragic as her story was, it must be told. I am thankful to all of the witnesses– not discluding Kayla–that told the truth.

    Adam will pay for this.

  13. The Defense Attorney has a hard time keeping the facts straight, it seems. I heard Kayla's testimony, and even at 70 am able to remember her direct and cross testimony about the "power tools"….which place she saw what; and her testimony about "the bathroom" etc. I bet the Judge remembers, too. Prosecutor set the Record straight for Defense about Kayla's ACTUAL testimony, Bank, Home Depot; but I doubt Defense got the facts straight in spite of all that!

  14. There is NOT ONE witnesses the chat people do NOT criticized, especially physically… such immature attitude and I hope those witnesses dont see it, it's very insulting and judgemental

  15. I'm late finding this trial and this story. There's like 100 videos, all out of order….I hope someone can come up with a more organized, chronological way to watch this trial.

  16. Adam isn’t man enough to sit still in court, his anger and rage would show when confronted about what he did to Harmony and I believe he would become violent. He’s a coward!!
