Alec Baldwin, star and producer of “Rust,” was pointing the gun at Hutchins when the fatal shot was fired. Director Joel Souza was also injured in the accident. 2. This was a good example of why you should never give someone a loaded gun. You don’t think going to work today will be my last day of life. First of all my deepest sympathies to her husband. She should have checked to see if it was empty. She as well as anyone else involved should have gotten life in prison. Someone was killed by accident but it still happened. They need to take some responsibility for this young woman dying ❤. She’s lucky she didn’t get charged for murder

  3. Kari Morrissey is brutal… if she is prosecuting Alec Baldwin…whew.. he better be ready…. I am a state prosecuting attorney and she scares me😊. I don’t particularly like her “style” but she did her job well and got the outcome she desired.. No question she was prepared….There were times Bowles should have objected she had .. speaking objections, she was badgering witnesses , and at times she was trying to testify. She ran all over the defense…..I was a bit surprised she requested remand into custody prior to sentencing and the judge agreed.

  4. Oh my goodness Kari Morrissey is a force of nature…. She scares the c**p out of me. She is bloody amazing and you can so tell she works her arse off. She deserves a holiday after this case. All the best to HH’s little boy hope he grows up safe and loved and reminded about his mother everyday.

  5. Bowles has no chance from the get go. But I admire his calm, his resolve and his standing up for the defense. I think he is a good lawyer. The problem is: per duty and per definition, an armorer is always guilty when something goes wrong with weapons on a movie set. Even if he or she did not bring the live rounds, even if they tried their best… it is their job to be the first and last line of defense in terms of weapon safety. It is an unsurmountable responsibility. His arguments would be convincing for any person on that set except the armorer. It´s a tragedy. But he had no chance and tried the case professionally as far as I can see.

  6. 4:37:22 Amen. Thank you for calling out the nonsense. Nobody was targetted, nobody was made a scapegoat, the people who bear the most responsibility criminally got charged. Sure, the set was a mess, that's no excuse. Sure, she was young, female, and inexperienced. Well, she knew exactly what she was signing up for. The Defense themselves said: "She basically grew up on set with her dad" at the start of the trial. She knew exactly what kind of storm she was walking into, better than anyone her age. There are so many strong young women who kick butt and demand respect. Hannah was too eager to be liked, she wanted to be cool, to YOLO her way through life, and that's all fine but not when you choose to take on a role where keeping others safe is the primary task.

I liken this to a pilot who is required to reject a flight if the plane is wonky. Even if the company is screaming in their ear. Even if they're just out of flight school. Even if the Emperor of Japan himself is in the back demanding to take off on time. The pilot is the boss of that plane, even though they technically have a bunch of executives above them paying their bills.

There were 100+ people on set who were counting on her to keep them safe. "But Baldwin was scary and I was stressed" isn't an excuse. Unlike Hannah, Halyna wasn't a nepo baby who got handed the job through daddy's friend, she had to work hard to even be there. Hannah's lucky to get away with involuntary manslaughter because if they had drug-tested her, she may well have been convicted of second-degree murder.

  7. Now for Baldwin, who knew better than to take a gun directly from anyone other than Hannah. And why not use mirrors?! Point it at a mirror in a safe direction away from everyone else that makes it still seem like it's pointed directly at the camera. Same effect with no risk.

  8. She is guilty and must be held accountable.
She was no longer a girl but a 24-year-old young woman. At the latest when she realized that she could not do her job, she should have given up the job. Why didn't she do it? Overconfidence? The thought of being part of a Hollywood production? Or was she completely intimidated?
She will be in prison for a short time. Then she can rebuild her life. I hope this time in prison and the shock of being taken away directly will help her realize what her part is in this tragedy. That she will grow and take responsibility for her actions.
I also feel sorry for her. But she still has the chance of a new life.
    Halyna doesn't. 😔

  9. 04:03:30
I 100% agree with his pharmacy/nurse/patient analogy – the pills being the bullets. The pharmacist/armourer put the pills/bullets in the bottle/gun and claimed they were inert when they were actually lethal. The nurse/Baldwin then acted as if the bottle/gun contained what they were told it contained and the patient/Helena died as a result.
So I agree that the pharmacist/Hannah is the one to blame.
It's a shame he got muddled in his analogy and labelled Hannah as the unknowing nurse and Baldwin as he patient and Helena as… Oh sorry, she was just an afterthought to the defendant and her team througout this whole thing.

  10. It all seems pretty simple to me. Her JOB was to check the revolver to make sure it was loaded with blanks. She did NOT do this. It does not matter if other hands touched the gun before it was handed to alec. Just like it does not matter if she didn't bring live rounds on the set. If she had done HER job, the tragedy could have been avoided. This is a FACT, and due to that, she is guilty.

  11. Why wouldnt they drug test her?!?! When someone gets hurt at work, they test them to see if they are under the influence. They could do a hair test today and it would show what she took 3-4 years ago… i don’t understand why they didnt test her

  12. The movie studios and actors should pull production from the entire state of New Mexico after the indictment of Alec Baldwin. The verdict in this case is correct. Gutierrez is the only person that should have been charged.

  13. She was 100 % setup i will tell you the government is blaming a young innocent girl.instead of mr . Psycho baldwin

  14. Hannah's lawyer was absolutely horrible. Worse yet, his closing arguments are what sealed her fate! He should be on trial for being criminally inept. He came to a gun fight armed with a stick!

  15. This is about the Chain of Command And How the Scapegoat was Invented Imagination held a Critical Part in such a Live Bullet Enterprise And Brandon Lee Knows exactly How it Got on Stage

  16. Great result. The prosecution started slow but came home like Usain Bolt. No remorse, except for herself, no testimony or apology to the Hutchins family or the Rust crew 🤷‍♂️ Prob won’t even do 12 months inside for accidentally killing someone and when she gets out, will become a millionaire from interviews and book deals. The tax payers money was well spent 💰👌 🇺🇸

  17. Aww, they didn't cuff her! That's my favorite moment of any conviction! Enjoy prison Hannah. To quote her "I wish I would have checked the gun better."

  18. As much as I agree with this conviction, everyday thousands more are killed by companies such as Johnson & Johnson (talc contamination cases), Monsanto (Round-Up cancer cases), and Purdue Pharma (opioid epidemic). There have been ZERO criminal convictions for those executives running these companies. Why the disproportionate focus on this case just because it’s Hollywood? Focus on the everyday companies poisoning you and your communities.

  19. No matter who you are, you always have a last-ditch obligation to check (or ask help to check) the gun you get to your hands to make sure it's empty of live cartridges, or if it's loaded with dummy rounds, that they are definitely dummy rounds. A fine would be sufficient verdict in this case. Imprisonment sounds unreasonable for a young and inexperienced girl. Set Hanna free!

  20. Oh my, seeing the Mom and her Dad in total shock and disbelief really hit hard. It showed EXACTLY why she's in the situation she's in…horrible parents who never disciplined her or taught her to be responsible for her actions. Her parents failed her. PERIOD.
