    In July, Lang petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court, challenging the charge of “obstructing, influencing or impeding an official proceeding,” which carries a sentence of up to 20 years. He argued that the law only applies to the destruction of documents or other evidence. On Oct. 30, the Department of Justice filed a brief urging the Supreme Court not to take up a petition, saying it would be premature to rule before Lang has been tried.

Republican or Democrat cared even just a little about the conditions in our nation's jails and prisons then something would have been done about it a long time ago. They don't care about the conditions of the prisons holding the millions of Black and Hispanic and poor men and women! They only care about one particular prison where the January 6th criminals are being held and that just really pisses me off! It is true that the conditions of the jails and prisons around our nation are atrocious… so do something about all of our jails and prisons and the way the prisoners.. who happened to be mostly Black and Hispanic and poor are being treated! Criminals are still human beings.. and being treated like subhuman is just unacceptable! I'm not saying they should be treated like kings and queens in there because of course they are there to pay for their crimes but they at least deserve the barest of necessities.. a clean environment and decent food to eat improper medical treatment as well as protection from attacks on them by other inmates and prison guards. The abuse they suffer at the hands of the prison guards is just horrific!
