7. The same thing happened to me. I let my brother “rent,” one of my houses (we did the whole lease agreement) It took me two years to get him out of my house. He paid 1 month’s rent in two years. He never paid for maintenance or upgrades, or anything. After arguing for 2 years, I had enough and legally had him removed. Of course there are family members who are mad at me, but I just tell them to rent their home to him, shut up and leave me alone. Never set yourself on fire to keep others warm!

9. 5:00 The salon worker — She's blaming someone for calling her out for what SHE DID TO HERSELF!! First, she allowed herself to become pregnant "not being with the right person." That's her own stupidity! Then, she took her stress out by overeating, basically stuffing herself. Then the poor thing couldn't handle the truth. She needs to ger her life in order rather than crying about a truthful comment, even though it was said by a "holier than thou" client.

10. so the story about the house and the brother.. Let me get this straight your house is out of date on wiring and probably other things. You're to much of a scourge McGee Scumlord to not update it nor accept taking cut in rent when your brother puts money into it when you wont. Which is a fair trade really because he's IMPROVING the proptery making the value better. SO instead of being a decent human being and offering to sell to your brother FIRST you pull the rung out from under him after he's suck couple hundred if not thousands of his dollars into it.. Yeah no, if you were my sibling and you pull that shit with me. Best believe I'd be talking to the lawyer about renter's rights and other boards to have the house brought up to code.

12. The first wild Karen that wouldn't leave after being rude. I once walked up to one going load over some BS and was told to leave. Now I'm 6' 3" & 275 lbs. In a low voice, I said, "It's been a while since I sent someone to an early grave. So, you up for that?" I've never seen someone so short and so overweight run so fast!

13. This is my house story …. Is it just me or does OP come off as the AH in that story? Especially selling the house without warning. All because the brother wanted to make it livable? I mean there's a difference between upkeep and "this house is too old and incapable of supporting a family and needs upgrades". Break even or not, family or not, there isn't a landlord anywhere that can reasonably expect their tenants to make improvements to a property the tenants don't own out of their own pocket.

14. My family just got my sister’s first husband so Ex out after 20 years, this last apartment was only 8 years. He was under the impression that we took advantage of him by giving him free rent while asking him to be the apartment manager, and fix things. My 81 year old dad has to go down and clean up all the mess as he still runs the family business (I still work full time M-F). The place is layered in dirt and infested with cockroaches. When he left he also cut the drain pipe of the back laundry sink where it goes into the main drain.

    Grandpa and Grandma always said don’t rent to family. When they got married Dad didn’t heed that advice, and we are paying for it.

    House story: You did what had to be done, OP. But as the saying goes, no good deed goes unpunished. You tried to help your brother and he stabbed you in the back.

    Dirt wall story: I would have made certain to seed the dirt wall with crabgrass, clover and dandelions.

19. first she makes excuses for why she got fat instead of taking accountability for her own actions, then she gets mad at someone for calling her out on being fat. accountability is like kryptonite for some people.
