1. Small town fire departments are insanity political. I was a volunteer fire fighter for over 10 years. 7 years in a row I went to the most calls. I left because of the drama it was crazy

2. The good things about the last story is that first they are in Scotland. For those not in the UK the legal situation is that some laws apply to the whole of the UK, but some only apply to England and Wales together, and tend to be older and not revised much. Northern Ireland has laws and a whole bunch of regulations, a bit of a mess because of the conflict over the years and the British government throwing in laws and regs quickly. Scotland is more civilised and the laws that only apply there tend to be newer and they are reviewed more often.

   The house buyers are also lucky because the neighbours who tried the land grab will probably put the blame for the failure of their plot (pun intended) on the sellers.

3. 13:16…………Good luck with the new neighbor, you're going to need it. They will test you every way they can to get back at you for foiling their planned land grab.

   Time diffrences….

   My mother was an LPN and work nights, slept days. My uncle (father's brother) kept calling my mother around noon just to chat. Claiming that with noon and she should be awake because it's daytime….ignoring the fact that she worked nights.

   She ended up calling him just to chat at 2:00 in the morning!! He stopped his nonsense pretty quick!!!!

6. I like the one with the time difference – once that ass had it pointed out that time differences CAN affect him, he decided not to screw with the other coast, because they might escalate.

7. Volunteer means just that, an agency cannot REQUIRE time spent for volunteer activities. So I’m not volunteering to help with your training.

9. OP needs to Report the Station Management to the State Fire Marshal's Office…even Volunteer Departments have Rules and Laws they must follow and it sounds like OP's Manglement broke most of them…

10. The only thing I would say about the last is I can't help but the neighbours have something to do with their leaving and are going to cause more issues once they moved in and are stuck with them

11. Volunteer firefighter story: OP, thank you for serving there as long as you were realistically able to and then some. A few months ago, my wife had a medical emergency in the evening. I had the sheriff's department, the local volunteer fire department and an ambulance show up, all within minutes after calling 911 and was very thankful they were able to assist my wife. She's diabetic and her blood sugar had dropped too low while taking a nap and we couldn't wake her up. She's monitoring her blood sugar closer now and hasn't had an incident since. Volunteer fire departments are extremely important.

    Train story: Well, you obviously knew your stuff about that toy line OP and were pretty enthusiastic about it as well.

    Time zone story: I'm a retired truck driver. Time zones are something drivers have to constantly keep in mind as we operate on two different time zones at once. The time zone our home yard/offices are in and the time zone(s) of our customers for pickups and deliveries are in. Our home time zone has to be used for our logs, but customer pickups and deliveries are based on THEIR time zones. It can get tricky, especially when operating across multiple time zones as you have to add or subtract hour(s) depending on where you're based and where your customers are, plus knowing who's in what time zone. There's 4 of them in the contiguous US.

    Land grab story: Very glad you got some CCTV cameras installed. I'm willing to bet this will only be the first time this neighbor will try something shady. A good fence along the ACTUAL property line just might be in order as well.

I remember the Thomas the tank engine times when George Carlin was the actual conductor… And yes I remember the English conductor as well as I am old enough to have a son who loved Thomas the tank engine and I remember those wooden sets they were expensive as all hell!! And they did carry them at the toy stores that were set up for you know educational toy purposes.. and does anyone knows those stores are always more expensive than a regular toy store. However ..the Barnes & Noble sets.. there was such a ridiculous markup on those sets it wasn't even funny! And I do remember that roundhouse you could get it at some stores for like 200 bucks but Barnes & Noble know that shit was $537.00!! No joke!

14. i think the manager was "encouraged" to find other opertunitys at a company that was more suited to his ideas. i higely suspect that some company reps started to sending complaints aigenst the things that was going on and you dont want to anoy those guys because they most likely know a lot of guys that knows other guys etc and can easly screw you entire buisness eventualy.

17. As to volinteer he should have left a lot sooner. He put is life at risk for no pay and put more time in the all the others. That type of behsvior will not keep the others around.

20. That's the reason I told the volunteer fire department to shove it.

I write that to the state fire department board about what they made me do after so many years of loyalty to the department and have the guy who's in charge be reprimanded or fired because that's liability for the entire department if somebody should fall asleep on the job because of lack of sleep due to managements decisions.
