26. I'm from Canada and we have some of the same issues with our Ministry of Justice. It is standard practice to offer plea deals to criminal offences in exchange for no jail time, accompanied by the threat from prosecutors that if you proceed to trial, the prosecutor will reccomend the maximum jail sentence. It is extortion.
