Baldwin is an A-list celebrity who’s no stranger to controversy and media attention. But how will his defense handle presenting him to a jury in the courtroom and will he testify? 1. I can't imagine Alec NOT getting on the stand. He thinks he's the smartest person in the room

  2. Johnny Depp trial was a different situation period! Alec Baldwin is guilty for his part in the Rust Shooting period, Alec pulled the trigger or touched it somehow for the gun to go off. A gun just doesn’t go off by itself.

  3. I think there’s no one person to blame, it was a bunch of faults. It’s a weird case because of that. If just one person were at fault, the case would be easy.

  4. I think Baldwin has fully cooked himself. Studios don't want him, other actors don't want him and the general public is a mixed bag. Basic to firearms, don't point at anything you don't intended to destroy, loaded or not. They were too cheap to use specially made non real model guns.

  5. STOP using Johnny’s name in every topic ben chew discusses. LEAVE JOHNNY ALONE. It’s about time you start calling him as Ben Chew.

  6. Balwin is guilty and a hot head, Johnny was innocent and such a gentle soul! That’s why Johnny’s testimony worked! Alec taking the stand would put him down for sure, not that not testifying would save him either

  7. This is a Criminal trial not a Civil case over money . And it could be argued Depp never should've taken the stand in his UK trial, let alone taken the case to court. He'd still have a career if he didn't.

  8. He's yapping like a
Chewawa / Russell terrier..hes contracticting himself…hes so rich 1st thing he should of done stop yapping and grab a lawyer ..

  9. Baldwin is such an absolute blow hard. He’s a liar and an old entitled famous guy that’s trying to talk himself out of culpability. Can’t wait until he’s no longer talked about so often.

  10. You never point a gun at someone you always treat a gun if it is loaded for this reason he is at fault.

  11. Baldwin considers himself more & more entitled as the years have gone by. When he started his career he was a likable guy. Then he became a bully. Now, he simply considers himself entitled. Snobby. No longer the nice guy he was.

  12. I understand Johnny Depp lawyer’s reasoning in wanting to have Baldwin testify in order to clear up the discrepancies and cloud of doubt around his prior statements which are conflicting. However, I think he should take the 5th and opt out of testifying on his own behalf. He gets on the stand and he will talk too much and make himself appear much worse. Lead state prosecutor and judge here are no games and no nonsense, which will be perfect to counter Baldwin and his attorneys’ (especially Spiro) narcissistic and brazen temperament in court.

  13. I LOVE Ben Chew, but I disagree with his suggestion that Baldwin is only being charged because he’s a celebrity. I think it’s because he’s had so much exposure to gun safety that he can’t claim ignorance.

  14. Baldwin is blaming everyone else. From previous reports this tragedy was not a surprise. He said ' I assumed..' that is culpability right there. He was the producer he should have ensured safety protocols were followed and that includes not 'assuming' he had been handed a cold weapon. In addition, they were only setting up the scene, why would the gun need to have any bullets in it???

  15. I have no reason to disbelieve that Baldwin thought the firearm was clear/ That does not legally remove his responsibility to personally follow safety stadard of checking the firearm and not ponting it anyone.

  16. He doesn't have a chance despite his NYC lawyers. firearm safety protocols are well established and everyone is responsible for following them despite what anyone else does or doesn't do.

  17. Come on now. We should all know that Hollywood elites should get a free pass on everything cuz they're much smarter than the rest of us and incredibly fantastic people.
