Professor Francis A. Boyle, Human Rights Professor and Lawyer who was the first to win a genocide case at the International Court of Justice spoke to Andrew Marr on Thursday, praising South African lawyers performance in rebutting Israeli defences.

South Africa has formally accused Israel of committing genocide against Palestinians and pleaded with the United Nations’ top court to order an immediate halt to Israeli military operations in Gaza.

Israel, which was founded in the aftermath of the Holocaust, has vehemently denied the allegations.

As a sign of how seriously they regard the case, Israeli leaders have taken the rare step of engaging with the court to defend their international reputation.

Israel often boycotts international tribunals or UN investigations, saying they are unfair and biased.

Israeli lawyers have pledged to present a robust defence on Friday.

In conversation with Andrew Marr, Professor Boyle added that ‘based on the evidence he’d seen, he believed South Africa would win their case against Israel.

  1. Thank you, Andrew for covering this, because it feels like we are being heavily censored. By the mainstream channels like beeb, who have just completely ignored the trial!

  2. Joint airstrikes, led by the U.S., targeted Houthi military capabilities in Yemen. The strikes received support from Australia, Bahrain, Canada, and the Netherlands.

  3. Who is going to enforce A guilty verdict?

    Palestine?

Oh children, you think you have say in the world?

We are mere peasants murmuring amongst ourselves.

  4. If anyone would know about this in Gaza re Israel)) it will be this Gentleman without a doubt. He's been here, Herzagovenia, Bosnia and Serbia,
Isn't it strange that the convention happened after the War after what happened to the Jews and now look at what's going on in Israel now, Netanyhu is on a power trip he has a huge EGO…HUGE!

  5. There's no way Israel will be found guilty political intervention from USA Britain France and Canada makes you sick when you know the outcome and not the truth and facts

  6. the world is waiting for the court
US to UK : can we say Veto now and stop wasting time or should we wait so we give them hope

  7. People don´t get whats infront of their nose all the time. We are being, and have been subjected to whats known as "Ideological Subversion". 4 stages of I) DEMORALIZATION, 2) DESTABILIZATION, 3) CRISIS, 4) "NORMALIZATION". This is a well known communist/socialist strategy that targets many generations until they reached their goal.

  8. Who took any Rwandans to the ICJ after 800,000 were killed ? Or the Khmer Rouge after 22% of the Cambodian population were killed ? Any calls for the DR Congo murderers to be brought to trial ? Or the Chinese authorities for their treatment of the Uyghurs ? No, of course not. But as soon as Israel is forced into action, the usual suspects crawl from the stones they've been hiding under.

  9. prosecutions must follow….Sunak Starmer et al complicit must be also charged…. to attempt to deny that the bombing of civilians killing thousands in a period of 3 months + denying basics of life and survival is a clear war crime is embarrassing…… well done South Africa…. Israel must be saved from itself and its current insane govt led by a corrupt political survivor who has hung around a decade too long…should have quietly bowed out long long time ago …
