Electoral bonds “provide (only) selectiveanonymity… confidentiality” since purchaserecords are available with the State Bank of Indiaand can be accessed by investigative agencies,the Supreme Court noted Wednesday, as itresponded to the government’s argument thatabsent provision for anonymous donations, alarge volume of political funding could revert toblack money. The court was conducting a secondday of hearing of challenges to the legal validity ofthe electoral bonds scheme.
