My mom was in a nursing home and when it came to “self pleasure” it happened all the time. Some patients even had toys that nurses would give the patients, give them privacy and then clean up for the ones that couldn’t. They’ve told me so many stories on walking in on men getting busy. I felt terrible for the nurses. As they told me, this is where they live and they have a right to do that if they want.
The defense lawyer is great. Rare for a public defender to fight like this.

Wow I’m surprised the nurse reported, good for her. Iykyk, but for those that don’t, medical professionals are always discouraged from reporting abuse and assault, which happens daily. There are certain environments where that is the norm, like a psych floor with people who have become violent after extensive an tbi, in that case, that is the nature of the job (sadly). But even in outpatient settings, medical professionals are discouraged from reporting physical or s*xual assault sometimes, some have even been told it would be a violation of hipaa to do so, so they don’t. If the hospital or clinic won’t ban the patient, best you can do is put a note in the chart about what the person does, and move on. And if other hospitals don’t use the same chart as you, other medical professionals will never know and enter a room with a serial assaulter
