Several different assault offense exist under the DC Criminal Code. The two most common are simple assault and assault with significant bodily injury–or misdemeanor and felony assault, respectively. There are several key differences between the two offenses that Attorney Joseph Scrofano from Scrofano Law PC explains in this video.
