Two years ago in the area where I live a man who had been kept in jail for two years with what turned out to be some bogus charges finally went to trial. He had nine counts of attempted homicide against three undercover police officers in a van and some other sundry charges. To shorten the comments, his defense attorney did not call any witnesses and the defendant did not testify in his own behalf. Less than three hours jury brought back a not guilty verdict on all 13 charges including the nine attempted homicides. How good was the evidence? This kind of crap happens in the US as well.
