Newly released body camera footage from the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office shows the aftermath of the deadly “Rust” movie set shooting involving Alec Baldwin.

Criminal Defense Attorney Rachel Fiset helps break down it down on “NewsNation Prime.”

“This is a really interesting development, and it’s not all the time that sheriff’s offices would do this. In fact, they generally release the information as part of the discovery process once a charge has been made. So the fact that they’re releasing the information prior to charges is an interesting move,” Fiset said.

  1. I bet the armorer created dummies out of full loads. They now know she ordered full loads on a set prior to Rust. And I bet they came in and got used off set for a bit. The armorer already stated she shoots mostly .22 on sets and training actors on use and doesn't shoot 45 that often at all. 45 is a decent kick on a single action. And the smoke. Unless it's half loaded or less. But that bullet will come out. If it was a full load, both would had full exit wounds and a lot bigger on the POI. After the review of info about the set's ammo cart and after seeing the disaster cart on set, looks like one out of the six(or the 5 cowboy load) was one with a hole in it. That's a trick done to create the dummy round out of the full loaded casing instead of ordering them. The standard ordered dummies were BB loaded without powder to make the gun look loaded from the frontal camera view in the cylinders. But dummies are non potent, no powder grains at all. Blanks would be noticeable from that angle. they look like little crimped points from a longer casing. Way noticeable. Either way, when the gun goes off, you can see there is very little powder and smoke from a .45 that Baldwin shoots. I've shot a lot, from a Pieta and Uberti 1873 single actions. That hammer has to be either fully extended to setup the timing arm inside to click over the cylinder, which he has fully and is probably how the scene was probably being directed. If it was a blank or dummy, either it would have had enough volume in room for the powder pop to make it look real(blank) or nothing happens at all since it can only be a dummy round. But that didn't happen and the statement was made that 5 ratted, and one did not but had the little hole in the side. Well, that can be a half load, and shouldn't have ever been on set or manufactured on set to do so. Baldwin wouldn't have known, not one bit. Even if he unloaded every round. That is the armorer job, sole purpose, and there is a process that should have been followed there. If that was a blank(with wadding) or even a full round, the room would have clouded up in front of the camera. That's a half load if I ever seen one. Very little smoke, very little recoil, and folks usually twist the gun in the hand on single actions from the way the handle angle is on the after fire. That's why he moves the gun to cockeyed moment after the hammer came down. It shot, expectantly and not a full bang, kind of like a "squib". That's a load that fizzles out but can shoot and be propelled still or sometimes not. And now that it may have been in another's hands in between the armorer and Baldwin, there are more questions on the process. That should have been a controlled situation right out of the armorer's hand. After signing off the loads and pistol from the cart and cage. She knew it after the situation happened. She knew something went wrong. So 3 different types of ammo, and only 2 should have existed on set. But again, I've seen full loads converted to make a dummy in different situations. It's not recommended, you can't see if all the powder is out. And most folks don't know the powder is actually little disks, like "periods" in shape. They are flat, but round like circles. Some may stay in the casing, even if a hole is in it. Dummy rounds also do not have a ready primer, and has a spend dent in it. They are looking towards what was still in the gun. The primer was still in that casing and just fired. So I'm thinking the homemade on set conversion of the dummy round is what was fired and should never have been there.

  2. They're showing him drawing the gun, because the hammer is
cocked and his finger is on the trigger–contrary to what he's been saying.

  3. If no one is criminally charged there needs to be a total purge of the people in positions making these decisions

  4. It doesn't matter who handed the firearm. The operator needs to clear the gun and follow safety procedures as per the NRA 3 rules of gun safety or Col. Jeff Cooper's four rules.

Jesus himself can come down and give me a gun and swear it's safe, and I would still clear it myself.
The truth of the matter is that none of this would've happened if Baldwin followed safety rules.

  6. 2:10 I don't give a shit who handed who the firearm.. The operator of that firearm is responsible., theirs no question.. Just keep feeding bullshit. Like that little girl who shot the instructor in the head with an fully automatic SMG. 100% the instructor fault. That SMG should have been filled maximum of 5 rounds for kids.. Reasons being it's not an personal firearm. It's smart. Tsp is not Baldwins first time USA firearm.. Most ppl in the industry have had to take some sort of firearms safe handling practices., if not they should not be handling tools that's beyond their capacity use the tool. IMO
