  1. I would like to be a public defender to do my part in making sure the legal system isn’t just for the rich and better off.

  2. I'm wondering something and I can't seem to find an answer anywhere,
I had a public defender once tell me that she needed so many hours as a public defender in order to be a lawyer. Is this true? Maybe I misunderstood her. Do you need so many hours as a public defender to be a private lawyer?

  3. I'm interested in becoming a lawyer, and Public Defender seems like a good route, given the shortage of them, and tuition reimbursement.

  4. The public defender is given a variety of cases that, although not specialized, will provide a broad spectrum of knowledge in criminal law.

  5. @Iohgilbert – where is there an illusion that the system is fair? check your eyes. It's obviously not a fair system.
