  1. Thank you for this, please make another video for the civil process or remake the criminal procedure and add more details on CPA 51 OF 1997 also explain METHODS OF SECURING THE PRESENCE OF ACCUSED PERSONS IN COURT.

  2. Too many errors from your so called expert. I don't understand how he managed to confuse Section 9, right to equality with Section 11, right to life. then he goes further to venture an opinion in an area he's not an expert in. Though, i think we should have the death penalty, there is no proof that it reduces crime. In short; this video was rubbish.

  3. I happened upon this video and was excited to see a South African you tuber discussing legal aspects until I heard the idiocy masquerading as fact . The burden of proof is a reasonable doubt and as number of cases have stated there is no other so postulating some higher standard for death penalty matters is moot . It also does not factor in incorrect convictions due to 1. Misidentification 2. Prosecutorial misconduct ( which only comes to light post appeal ) 3. False positive DNA tests ( also post appeal or as technology develops ) . In case it is alleged that these things do not happen check the innocence project in the USA that has to date vacated 373 people convicted of capital offences and who were serving life . Now imagine if they had received the death sentence .

  4. Hi Riaan, I like the discussion and hope that you will tackle some matters of criminal law as well going forward. I'm busy with my LLB at Unisa as well and your views were very insightful. We need people like you in the justice system, who are fair and considerate of the fair and just application of the law.
