  1. Glad to hear of some of these serious problems getting resolved, too bad it takes attorneys to resolve.

  2. We looked at new models before we bought ours two years ago, after hearing so many horror stories, I’m so glad we opted to but used for our first RV. We spent $10k and bought a 2000 Four Winds Infinity Class A in great shape with 53k miles on it. We have put a new roof on it, a new generator in it, re-sealed all the windows, put new shocks on it, and it’s a fantastic unit! I wouldn’t give this thing up for the world! It’s paid for, is reliable, and we don’t even have any slides on it for them to go bad. They can take these expensive newer units and shove them! If we want to upgrade some things- we do it as we go along!

  3. A good friend of mine,😮 who was a mechanic retired a couple years ago. He wanted to live in an R. V. He read all kinds of books and magazines about R. V's. He even went to a couple factories in Indiana Where they build RV's. What he learned was that they used the cheapest materials from the tires up.

  4. For every 1 defective RV owner who goes to court and gets a recovery, there are 100 others who can’t afford a lawyer, give up, or who take a token settlement. That is why the manufacturers dig in so much because the corrupt legal system works for them. Those who hire the lobbyists control the system.

Consumers still have free speech, but look at LizAmazing: they are even trying to take that away. Vampire industry.

  5. Sir you and I appear to be close in age. I was surprised that you said there are good and bad lawyers. That just isn't true. ALL lawyers are cut from the same cloth. Very similar to the manufacturer's who make the radar detectors in our cars while making the laser/radar guns fot law enforcement. Simply put they play both sides of the coin. Who do you think writes the contracts for the RV companies? All I can say is purchase the product with both eyes wide open. And by all means do your due diligence prior to putting your hard earned cash on the table.

  6. Thanks to Biden/Kamala's inflation I can not afford to buy new tires for my older RV.

  7. You You tubers fn amaze me always asking for a thumbs up even before we have a chance to watch vlog and decide for ourselves. Dont know why but that just pisses me off

  8. Good info regarding how all lawsuits work. Consumer Review Act – Free Speech can't be taken away.

  9. So true about slide-outs. RV Engineering is worse than pathetic. RV manufacturers do not care at all if things are reliable or even functional beyond the delivery date.

  10. I currently own two class Bs that have had problems from the start. One was fixed under warranty but took several months. I diagnosed and fixed a water leak in a joint myself than let them rip out the fresh water tank. I love both my RVs and we’ve immensely enjoyed our trips to the national parks and boondocking in the forests.

  11. Bought a 2021 grand design 22 mile and love it I’ve had a couple issues and grand design have been great, my dealer General RV in Birch run Michigan they are useless.

  12. This must have been an old case considering Gulfstream stopped Class A production in 2012, they still build B's & C's and pull behinds and are generally known for a quality product, I've owned a Class A for a decade with zero issues other than simply items manufactured by others that wore out from use. Another question why and how did a "federal arbitrator" become involved in this discussion, was the issue accepted in federal court? Considering the aftermath of Katrina and thousands of people attempting a Class action over "offgassing in FEMA trailers", the 5th U.S. Circuit said they can file individually but there was not going to be a Class Action. I'm curious as to how the federal courts and arbitrator was involved in this suit.

  13. I'll bet the corporate reps that allowed the $500K loss are no longer employed by Gulfstream.

  14. The more losses and the more of these clowns that go out of business the better. RVs and trailers are a complete disaster in every way! By now there should be units that are absolutely bulletproof! Should be doors and windows that will last decades, same w the hardware, frame design and materials should be able to withstand a nuclear blast. Interior design should be durable and easily cleaned, decades of trouble free service. The roofs and siding should never leak period. All the technology is there, instead the rec vehicle clowns make things cheaper, weaker, some designs flawed before they leave the lot and others lasting only months. The internet could be designed into a rig fairly easy, and maybe a microwave and some built in stabilizers.. but almost nothing else was needed. Trailer and RV design has changed, but not much for 90 years, instead the materials and techniques are garbage and the value is terrible. There should be a massive secondary market with rigs lasting 30-40 years, after all most are getting very limited use, instead majority of designs rot in place, need to be treated like a patient in critical care or roof will leak , windows will fail plumbing will not function if not used.. entire business is a scam..w PEX pipe, LED lighting, composite materials and waterproofing paints and membranes , plumbing fixtures w nylon and ceramic inserts, too many things to list, there is zero reasons why recreational vehicles are not super reliable and rugged. And with availability for decades the only reason that everything is made of cheap, disposable, unreasonable materials is by choice. Disgraceful

  15. Dodged a bullet, decided to skip a Covid model for a 08 dutchman motorhome. Low milage, stored inside, clean throughout. 60k miles now ,a few minor repairs, way ahead financially, like over $100,000. Thank you and Liz for the heads up

  16. Quite an eye-popping result, Alan, the manufacturer ends up paying multiple times what they would have had to pay if they had just agreed to mediate the case earlier! We have been very fortunate, we are on our third RV. The first two were junk. The current one is a Newmar Dutch Star, built in January of 2020, so just before the crappy Covid catastrophes were foisted upon unsuspecting RVers. This coach has been great, a few minor issues, but overall great build quality. I'm sure it helps that we are able to store it at home in a climate-controlled garage. Given that we live in Florida, I wouldn't want to spend as much on an RV that is exposed to the harsh weather conditions here 24/7, 365, although I suppose it's counterintuitive to think that way, since they are supposedly built for that purpose!

  17. So glad I listened to this. Learned somethings that would apply to other than an RV. I have had reservations about NDAs and am now aware of Consumer Review Fairness Act. Thank you for doing this.

  18. Is the quality of RV builds going back to what it should be? I will not buy one made in the covid years.

  19. We went with no slideout because I just did not want to deal with the almost inevitable issues. Slideouts are nice but unless you just must have the space, I think your a whole lot better without them. No mechanical slides, no wall intrusion, stronger walls and less site location issues.

  20. Question for the attorney: would the Consumer Review Fairness Act apply in Settlement Agreements (NDAs) where the consumer is required to remove content from their YouTube channel or other social media platform and not speak negatively about the company in exchange for a buy-back / payoff? If it would, and a consumer signed the agreement not knowing they had legal protection, can the NDA be voided or is it valid because the consumer agreed to the terms?

  21. I can’t believe that a person has to spend so much time for buying an RV in good faith and then spend so much time fighting the manufacturers for their poor quality products they sell to the consumers. There are thousands of RV’s out on the road with problems strictly because of low quality parts and quality control that these manufacturers don’t by choice do with they are being made.

  22. How do owners under warranty deal with the fact for some who are actually living in their RV full time? While being serviced under warranty for months they are homeless. Are they compensated?

  23. Slide outs are a nice idea, but you have the same problems whether you buy a $100,000 RV or a $2 million Prevost. Vehicles and holes in the frame structure, cantilevering modules and motorized sliding components don't play well together.
