Attorney Stephanie Murphy took the stand on Wednesday morning where she talked about being the attorney for murdered victim Doug Benefield. Murphy recalled sending a letter to Ashley Benefield on Doug’s behalf when Ashley was pregnant, regarding Doug being present for the birth of their child. Later it was revealed that Ashley had given birth to the child without notifying Doug.

In September 2020, Ashley Benefield ran to a neighbor’s house in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, and stated she had just shot her husband. Douglas Benefield had several gunshot wounds to his leg, arm, and chest area. Ashley Benefield claims she shot him in self-defense after months of alleged abuse. She was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. Ashley Benefield made bail and has been living with family and her daughter since the crime.

This lawyer is a liar and I bet she had something going on with Doug. Her behavior is disgusting. I would've kept my child away from Doug as well with his sociopathic behavior. He was a textbook sociopath. No normal person abuses animals nor travels from South Carolina to stalk someone. The system that was supposed to help her the Florida system failed her.
