This is a good introduction tutorial on law in itself and the various aspects it covers.
Also a fine does not go to the court, the fine either goes to a town, county, or state depending on the crime and how the local legal system is set up. A COURT FEE is what goes to the court that a defendant has to pay if found guilty and even sometimes if he or she isn't guilty they have to pay a court fee depending on once again the local laws.

A judge always has say over a jury, if the jury finds a defendant guilty and the judge doesn't think so then the judge can overrule the jury's decision and go into the process of making his or hers own decision. Only a magistrate has no ruling over a jury. Is this an American video?
Also a fraud trial can be criminal or civil, a murder trial is a criminal trial; they are NOT their own things.
