874. Walk & Talk: PARIS

Here is an episode in which I walk through the streets of Paris, rambling about a particular subject. This time the subject is Paris itself. This summer Paris is hosting the Olympic Games. The city will be filled with visitors. I am very curious to see how the city will handle this moment. Will it be a huge success? What will visitors think of the city? Will anyone suffer from the mysterious “Paris Syndrome”? Join me on my walk, follow my words, look out for vocab and consider using my questions for your own speaking practice.

  1. Hi Luke,
I have a problems in my english, grammar, reading and writing.
I thought that my listening and speaking is good but it is not. I just moved in to England to study and some times I have problems understanding people fast and even speaking sufficiently.
I got 7 in IELTS exam but I am not happy with my level in english.
How can I improve my English?

  2. Thank You Luke. All Your ides are pretty – cool. I joined You on Your walk with huge pleasure. Hope I get more and more. Servus!

  3. Thanks for this unusual yet amusing episode. I enjoyed your talking about the Olympics in Paris. I'm wondering myself how the 2026 Milano-Cortina Olympic games will affect my small town (Cortina) and I'm a bit sceptical about the whole thing. Let me know how it goes there, so that I'll know what to expect for the future.

  4. Thanks Luke for this first walk and talk episode, can´t be the last one ! I've never been to Paris, and this format is an amazing way to listen and practice. Regards from Buenos Aires.

  5. From my point of view, London is a cozy, lovely city. People are magnanimous, polite, and modest. However, the people in Paris, I suppose it is a bit different. When I walk on the streets of Paris, I feel unsure and unsafe. People do not really speak English with you and try to ignore you. If you ask me for one word to describe it, I would say London is "diverse" and Paris is "poor". It shows the contrast between these two cities."

  6. I love this video!! The landscape of Paris is super beautiful and completely different to Tokyo. I want to see another one.

  7. Alguém interessado em aprender Português e ensinar Inglês para mim? Podemos trocar ensinamentos dos idiomas e fazer um canal sobre esse desafio. Gravar as experiências e ver a evolução ao passar do tempo.

  8. Hi Luke, I went to London earlier Feb. Before going to London, I had thoughts on this city like it's always raining, the weather is gloomy. The food there is not good, but when I arrived in London, I was walking around the city, literally there are loads of nice restaurants that serve all sorts of food around the world. I had a nice Japanese cuisine. Plus, there are a number of museums and art galleries that you can go to and immerse yourself in the unique culture. Most importantly, the weather is better than it is in Ireland, which is known for its annoying rainy days. It's better than I had expected. Anyways, i will be have a trip to southern France, and hopefully, it can meet my expectations 🙂

  9. It’s amazing, keep this format please, feeling like this video move me at another peaceful world from war place. Thanks a lot!
