Can a minor get away with murder well it depends what you consider getting away with murder to mean if you consider doing 10 years in prison as getting away with murder then technically yes a minor can get away with murder in the state of California and many other states you cannot be charged as an adult if you’re under the age of 16 so if you commit a murder and you’re 15 years old then the maximum amount of time the government can keep you in prison is age 25 which means you’re doing a 10year sentence for committing murder now if you’re 16 or 17 years old you’re still a minor but you can be transferred into adult Court through a specific hearing where a judge can determine if you’re going to be charged as an adult or a minor typically on something like a murder 16 17 years old do get transferred into adult court so if you’re under 16 you could technically kind of get away with murder but if you’re 16 and 17 most likely not
